Honestly, if there was an attack, it was weak one.

1. That's fine.

2. You don't have to like it.

3. This is wrong. 4 man teams have been in play since the beginning, and that decision had nothing to do with Wii Speak, which didn't exist at that time. Instead of complaining that you have to fight mean ol' Lagiacrus again, man up and beat his ass as many times as you can. You aren't going to get every monster part you will need in one fight. This is not a game that you "beat". All the quests are meant to be done more than once.

From the post in question, the only thing that I can see that resembles an attack would be telling you to man up. It seemed like friendly advice to me. Telling you that don't have to like the way things were done in the game appeared similarly innocuous.

Now, don't get me wrong, in the very next post he said to stop being being an idiot and stop trolling, which I don't agree with. I don't have an opinion on the ban itself, really, but the first post in that episode was less than hostile. From an objective standpont from one who hasn't played the game, and thus didn't know who was right or wrong, LLLLLink was not very aggressive, in my opinion, before you called him out.

Regardless, I acknowledge that everything said after this point was indeed in the wrong, and has already been dealt with appropriately. As such, I will speak no further on the subject.

What I think you need to appreciate is that that stuff he said about manning up... had nothing to do with what I had said. I had not mentioned, at any point, anything about the difficulty of the game or fighting any monster, let alone a specific one. I was talking about the technical issues of matchmaking, as was abundantly clear from my post. His point there was such a non sequitur that at first I thought he had replied to the wrong person- and he was either ignorant or lying in saying I was wrong. I am absolutely and verifiably right about the city size in Japan being 10 strong (which, of course, allows for easier matchmaking).

The fact that he made that little tirade on me based on not reading my post correctly was a failure of courtesy. So I reminded him of that in the next post and likewise said he needed to change his attitude- and that if he carried posting discourteously like that he would end up with warnings. I didn't actually issue a warning at that point.

Only when he kept attacking me after that did I bring official warnings into it. His original post was just lacking courtesy and intelligence.

Okay, I understand now. Still not going to say anything else on it, however.

so how is monster hunter tri anyway I was thinking about buying it

A bit TOO hardcore for my tastes- the need to keep on eating food and sharpening your weapon, which to my mind, only distracts form the actual fun fighting part- is a pain. And as started the whole argument above, the matchmaking system is awful; compared to things like Dawn of War, the SCII beta and Left 4 Dead, it feels like it is from 10 years ago. No, that's unfair... Battle.Net on Starcraft made it easier to match games than this does, and that was over ten years ago.

But the actual base gaming experience is very good. It can easily eat your life.

lol eating food are there axes in this game or warhammers cause otherwise ill be sad D:

Agreed. I hate weapon sharpening. Cooking steak is fun though. xD

Giant two handed hammers and a fancy type of axe that morphs to a sword and back.

yay hammers ill just use those if I get the game most likely lol

No DBs in Tri 🙁

A poster posts like he did in that thread and you have an issue with him being banned for it after a clear warning?

You don't even care that he was making personal attacks based on an entirely false premise, and wouldn't even take the two seconds to check how completely in the wrong he was?

That's a real issue if you think there is anything wrong there. His ban should be a general warning against unintelligent, ill-mannered and aggressive posting.

And also about learning to read properly before making such ridiculous attacks. Any time I see a poster attack someone with such a ridiculous excess of testosterone simply for stating a technical fact, he is going to get warned, and if he continues to argue it he is going to get banned.

Likewise, I am very wary of posters who do not think his behaviour was ban worthy. The only thing that needs to be done in such a situation is for posters like that to either change their attitude- or be removed. What is worrying me now is that other people are not taking the few seconds to take to see how wring he is. Have the basics of a. courteous reading of posts and b. courteous replies to them been lost?

Very worrying indeed.

It's not a big deal, forget it. Gotta walk on eggshells around here and sugarcoat everything.

No, you have to not act dumb and insult people for no reason. How is that difficult? You've been here over six years, you should know better.

Maybe he didnt take it in the way 5L meant, unlike those that are defending him as they know him. Ah well.

Ha wow, 6 days?

Anyone remember Ryudo from Grandia 2? Any threads possible with him?

give me a layout of his feats.

Look, I'm pretty sure I said on the last page that this isn't up for discussion any longer.

And it doesn't matter if 5L didn't mean it that way. The words in his post certainly make it look like he did, and it's a big part of his aggressive attitude that I've told him to stop with in the past.

Personally I am fine with 5L being banned, for any reason. 🙂

Oppression!

Nothing surprising there.
