Woohoo, official off-topic thread!

Gaia originated from a game and should be allowed to be used in Game Versus threads. Before anyone says that's BS, allow me to point out some differences. In Greek Mythology, Gaia is a goddess but in GoW, she's a Titan.

I've said this before, I'll say it again.

God of War gods do not differ enough from those from the original mythology to be allowed here. Period. The matter hasn't been up for discussion for years.

Who calls it the best game of all time? Either way your opinion seems close to his as you just have them reversed but still like these both as your favorite games of the series.
I've seen it called that many, many times. Ocarina of Time is the golden standard that even Nintendo holds above their own heads. They say they won't quit until they surpass it.

I've heard it called "the standard by which all games are measured".

whoops missed a birthday. Happy Birthday Scythe.

Thankies! Appreciate it!

In OoT Link's control over time is pretty limited to the seven year span, but it's expanded greatly in Majora's Mask. I think that the limits you have on control of time are however merely gameplay because of multiple statements made in game by the sages themselves. Such as:

Scythe, how old are you?

Yeah, I bet it's great but doubtful it will surpass gow 3. That game was epic.

I'm really in the mood to play a Wild West style game for some reason. I wish I had played Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath when it was released. But I never bought an Xbox.

I should get Red Dead Redemption or Red Steel 2.

Red Dead for its story and replay value.

Nothing has yet to touch OoT, so...yeah.

I bet it will be awesome but one thing I hate about zelda games is they don't use va's. It drives me crazy and the GOW storyline has led to the ultimate battle that I have ever been apart of in a game. All about what you like in a game but Zelda was one of the first games I ever played. I was so young I ran around for 2 weeks with the shield without getting the sword in that first cave. ๐Ÿ˜‚

I wish nintendo would actually make it official one way or the other.

I think in the near future I will play oot so I'll let you know if my opinion changes once I play through this.

Again, I just want to make this clear.

OoT and TP feature the exact same location at one point- some look, same music, same purpose, same place for the Master Sword to act as a key... the same damn place!

That's as official as you could ever need. If you are denying the games are connected after that you are just being deliberately obtuse.

I haven't played it yet but I have talked to others who have and they believe they are alternate realities. Once I play through the game I'll let you know what I personally think.

'Alternate realities' is utter nonsense. Believing that is being very silly indeed. You don't use the exact same place in two games without it being an obvious damn link. It's not even worth discussing- it is absolutely and plainly there.

The more subtle links are there for anyone with the wit to see them.

Opinions vary and arguing comics I know this all too well. The quote at the bottom of my sig was what the creator himself stated when he wrote the end of siege 4 which I interpreted before he came out and said it but others denied so like anything even if it's obvious to you it could be a coincidence or just something another creator used for another game and until the creators come out and say something it will just be fans having their own opinions.

But like I said I haven't played the game so I can't really argue they are different or the same until I do I just told you what two others said, my buddy who has beaten most of them and some gamestop employee where I live.

Didn't you say that your friend you asked about it hadn't actually done any research into the timeline thing?

Opinions can vary all they like. But denying this is just stupidity. The link is, as I say, clear and obvious- not just to me, but to anyone with eyes and the capacity to think.

There are no reasonable grounds to argue against it. I know plenty of people are utterly irrational in such areas, but the facts are the facts.

(And just so we are clear- the facts are that TP is stated by the creators to be a sequel to OoT, plot links to OoT are made throughout the game, and as I am saying here, they use the exact same location at one point- a deliberate direct link. The whole thing was meant to show that it was the direct crossover point.)

Ah well, if the creators have stated this then that's all you need. Do you happen to have the link for this interview?

Yes, I'd need to ask him but I don't think he ever researched it.

I have a new allegiance.

Oh?

Yes. I am awaiting the seal to prove it.
