I remember when I first played FF7. I was going nuts trying to figure out what this sleeping cave guy meant, so I searched it on the net and it was about Aeris' Final Break. So I escaped battles, fought battles for a few hours until I got Mythril and traded it to this guy for GG. And then Aeris left the party, permanently very soon. That made me mad. 😠

It's never deliberately okay to spoil something outside of the relevant thread, and that's after it's already been out for a bit.
If you mention something about it, that's one thing, but if you go "oh hah hah I'm going to ruin this for you" and proceed to do so, that's another entirely and not acceptable.
When it doubt, use spoiler tags. Better to be cautious than sorry.
