Reptile's portrayal was.. weird, but I really liked the Baraka. Cooler than any of his game incarnations for sure.

It's not even Mortal Kombat anymore, its just a martial arts movie with characters that happen to have the same names as Mortal Kombat characters.

And yet, it looked way better than either of the two Mortal Kombat movies of the 90's, though the first one will always be a cult classic.

Scorpion being the main guy instead of Liu Lame? Win. Michael Jae White as Jax? Double win.

An MK movie could use this different kind of direction after the failure that was Annihilation.

That is admittedly a redeeming feature.

It's not a different direction, it doesn't have anything in common with the series except a few names. It's not Mortal Kombat.
