Pokemans have always been ridiculous. The difference in newer Pokemon is less simple designs and more creative thinking.

Pokemon that actually resemble animals and have relatively sensible names > random 'creative' designs with syllables mushed together.

Pokemon have never been only things that resemble animals. I will point out Geodude's family, Magnemite and Magneton, Magmar, Jynx, Hitmonchan, Hitmonlee, Bulbasaur's family, and there are more.

And there are still very creative and great animal based Pokemon. Skitty, Numel and Camerupt, Spoink and Grumpig, Zangoose and Seviper.

Out of curiosity, have you looked at any of the most recent Pokemon from Black and White? If not, what is your favorite type? I'll link you to a few if you'd like. We've actually been given a new monkey, a zebra, and a flying squirrel already.

Skitty is cute but has nothing on Meowth. The rest you listed are ridiculous.

I haven't, and I don't care to. I'm not interested in Black and White. The starters alone are enough for me to go "no, don't think so", not to mention that I did not like Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald (half the time I don't even remember they exist) or Diamond/Pearl/Platinum. The games themselves aren't even fun anymore.

I just don't see how that last part is possible. The games play basically the same, which would provide an explanation if you got tired of them. But you bought HG or SS. If it's still that then you're just on the nostalgia, so, okay. I'll not mention it again.

I'm pretty sure I have very different tastes in Pokemon, as I cannot stand Meowth but like Persian a lot. Can't stand Skitty either. So that explains why the ones I named you didn't like. If you prefer cute stuff: Torchic, Azurill, Plusle and Minun, Roselia, Milotic, Luvdisc (in all it's uselessness), and...Pachirisu?

Emonga is win.

The newer ones just feel like they play differently. They lack the fun factor that Blue/Red/Yellow and Gold/Silver/Crystal had. SS was great, but I haven't liked any other one made since the Gameboy Color.

Pachirisu is the only of the ones you named there that I like.

Then we have extremely different tastes. Pachirisu is my least favorite out of all those. Not his fault though, it's basically criminal what they did to him.

I don't particularly care for any of those myself. Favorite is Milotic then.

I don't get what you mean by "what they did to him". It's a Pokemon...what could they possibly do?

Shitty stats. I tend to like Pokemon that I can make viable in more competitive play. Of course I like Pokemon that I can't do that with, but I also prefer cool over cute and all kinds of crap you might expect from a bovine like myself.

Oh, I've never cared about any of that and find it rather silly, personally. I just play the games by myself and collect Pokemon that I like and think are cute (I usually wind up with every Eevee evolution, for example).
