although your example isnt very good, but i understand what you mean, characters with artifacts to help them perhaps, but they are Comic book artifiacts so i doubt they would be allowed, although ime not so sure, the rule does say only game characters, from what i remember the rules dont state anything on other genre items being allowed to be used
