Reboot? you mean their going to re-shape the canon or? because I agree, although its just a first impression its a poor one, hate what theyve done with Dante and the art style.

According to the producer Alex Jones, it is indeed a reboot yes.

Marvel has different continuities, like the Marvel Ultimate continuity, which is seperate from the mainstream 616 continuity, but comics are a completely different medium. It would be too confusing to have two game titles called Devil May Cry both with different continuities.

So unless I've misunderstood something or they change their mind about building up from this one, the good ol Son of Sparda as we knew him is gone.

Castlevania is being rebooted as well, but unlike this, its reboot looks excellent.

To be fair, art style is 100% unrelated to canon.

I admit, I do often underrate my skills 🙁

People got mad over first Cole then Samus, now they getting ultra pissed when Dante suffers a makeover. but no one complained much about the Prince getting a makeover(but to be fair he doesn't have as much fans as the others)

I dont mind the "forgotten sands" prince.

I just dont like the new Dante, I think hes supposed ot be when Dante first gained his powers apprently which explains his youth, but it will take some getting used to.

Forgotten Sands Prince looks nearly identical to Warrior Within Prince...
