To be fair, quite a few people who play Pokemon are like this. Going for a shiny is not as stupid as people who go for perfect IVs and shit that I don't remember because I was never a hardcore Pokemon competitor. Making a video of it though, is a little sad. Especially if there is no entertainment out of it.

As a player who has sold his soul to competitive battling, I take offense to this.
And it might be stupid. But I think that I can get a perfect IV in a stat before you find a shiny. Perhaps even fully IV a Pokemon I'm working on.
Shiny hunting only worked well in D/P/Pt. Poke Radar was legit.
Edit: Top right appears to have an abnormally long neck.

Look at it this way if it makes you feel better, you're a better Pokemon master than I'll ever be. I just never got Wi-Fi so the concept was waste for me. I just prefer an occasional battle with a friend or two.
Of course you can. My DS won't work so you have a far more bit of time than I. But no, I just see trying to catch shiny Pokemon as at least more of a goal. The kid is at least looking for a different looking Pokemon and not a slightly stronger one. Though a shiny Pokemon is stronger than the normal ones, but whatever.
Actually I just like knowing that my Pokemans can't have better stats. Makes sure that they're the best that they can be. 😛
And no, I mean just all together. Not you personally. IVing probably takes less time than Shiny hunting this time around.
Statistically I don't think they are. But if you know something I don't from the Pokemans canon you should share. Would be legit.
