I suppose it depends what you define as Religion. Certain spiritual believes might not, neither will rituals within groups. But Religion as we know it, personal creator Gods, Christianity, Islam etc., they are likely going to be marginalized.

Religion is deeper integrated into the US state and society than many prominent states of the world. State and church separation is maybe true on paper, but anyone with eyes and ears can see that God dominates the United States 😛

As for going over to America because of the Catholic Church, give me a break 😄 When you moved to America, you brought the church with you. The people didn't move to get away from religion. Religion was everything they knew. In Europe, up until around the 18th century, God was like air. An absolute 😛 Many were happy to be "oppressed" and when they couldn't provide the things that the church asked for, they were genuinely sorry.
