Despite protests from the South Korea government, Russian scientists, and Japanese fishermen, Japan authorized the release of the 11,500 tonnes (12,700 tons) of less radioactive water into the ocean to make room to store more highly contaminated water.[153][156]
Iodine-131 levels reached 7.5 million times the legal limit in a seawater sample taken near the facility.[153]

And in the past, "Christians" were the oppressors... F*CK U ENGLAND! ๐Ÿ˜„

If you're talking about those Crusade thingies, those were called for by the Pope. And led by German and French forces. I don't recall if England was involved *too* much in them.

Man, Germans are responsible for everything horrible, aren't they?

Except for their as seen on TV food making products. The Germans always make good stuff.

It should be noted the first crusade was launched *AFTER* the offensive push by Islam, though the conduct of later crusades can definitely be frowned upon.

I'm not sure LOYS knows much about history, though, as England has never been at the helm of anything reeking of Christian flavoured opression that I can recall.

Eh. Both sides were being assholes. ๐Ÿ˜›

To his credit, he is not in college yet. He will be soon though and he'll be learning about this stuff in no time. And participating in games about them. And damn are these games awesome.

And I think the reason England might not have participated could be attributed to being so far away. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

North Korea.

That only works because it is uses a different definition of "modern world" than her claim.

I know quite a bit about history actually. It was one of my favorite subjects in highschool. I was referring to the Catholic church in the past, Aura. They taxed everything, oppressed, converted ppl with different beliefs, and all that good stuff... The churches basically ran everything back then. It was either listen to what we tell u, or you're gonna die for defying God's will. Same with the king. They decided they could be c*cksuckers, and do whatever they wanted because it was their divine right. They were chosen by god to make everyone else's life miserable. They were the main reason a lot of our ancestors came to America in the first place. And yes, in August I'm being payed 18,000 a year in tuition to go to Aura's school for free. ๐Ÿ˜›

But North Korea is specifically targeting Christians, with intent to specifically oppress them. Dun matter if it's an oppressive country as a whole, when you got Christians being oppressed in a manner similar to that of Nazi Germany oppressing the Jews, whereas the rest of the population generally doesn't deal with that bad of oppression, it's oppression on Christians. Peach asked what oppression Christians face in the modern world. While there is little in the Western World, Asia/Middle East is an entirely different story.

But asides from that, pretty sure there is Christian oppression in Iran, or something.

I'm pretty sure she meant oppression in a balanced society and not one where shit has hit the fan. Same as I'm pretty sure she's not oblivious to the hate of Christianity that's displayed in some regions of the world ๐Ÿ˜›

Where are gay people opressed in the civilized world? ermm

"o no we cant get married qq".

If that's it, I sure as hell wish that was all black people had to deal with back in the day. ๐Ÿ˜

"Who was more oppressed at what time in history" sure is a fun and useful game to play

You think denied marriage is the only bad, or worst, thing homosexuals face in this world? ๐Ÿ˜›

History?

I don't really consider "now" to be history. I mean, I guess it kind of is, but, I don't consider the present to be history. What floats your boat, though. Yes, smartass, I am aware I said "back in the day". uhuh

Nope, I know that's not the worst at all.

However. If we're going to throw rationality out the door and play "Which group of people is most oppressed and therefore justified in bashing another group for no reason", gays are not very high up on the list at all.

And I'm happy I'm white. I'm not saying blacks don't have a hard time. Not for a second. With all due respect though, I didn't even mention the black people ๐Ÿ˜› I know it's not easy being black and I don't want to turn this into some sort of competition. I don't have any black friends and for that reason no experience and will say nothing about it in that sense ๐Ÿ™‚

All I wanted heard is that marriage is not the thing that make homosexuals feel oppressed, generally. There are cases of course. That's beside the point though. All I know is that homosexuals are to be happy it's not visible externally โœ…

As for all of this that's turning into something from nothing: All I wanted was to know that you didn't think what I asked if you thought ๐Ÿ˜›

You said England. Who actually gives the Catholic Church a lot of grief.

Taxes existed before them, were likely worse. Converting people is what religions do.

Not their fault they were smart enough to secure power. Way to go Innocent III

Not their fault people were too stupid to stop them. Then again, people were a lot different at this time. And the people actually wanted them to be in charge so I don't see how it matters.

It took some time but we finally generally kicked Kings (at least those with power) out and Religion seems to be on its way out, too...I guess people are finally smarting up and stopping them.

Church and state have been separate forever. For the US anyway.

Unless you mean religion itself will be out? Which will never happen.

It is happening in Europe, will likely happen in the US too, and then the rest.

Religion itself disappearing?

Will not happen. ๐Ÿ˜
