Well it had good writing for what it is. Just never had been a fan of that one episode, no real overarching story. That is a bit mean to judge it by those standards, especially when they both are funny. And when they did have films they were written especially well, though not Ed, Edd, n Eddy level of course. Which has the best writing of the 3.
And I rather like Foster's animation.

Good god, this. I was a little girl in the 80s and early 90s. The MLP cartoons then? Holy shit were they terrible. Even as a child I realized how bad and insulting they were. Yes, I loved the MLP toys (and had a whole bunch - and tended to make up my own personalities for them), but the MLP cartoons were horrible.
When it comes down to it, it's a cartoon advertising toys. It's not something that you'd generally have very high expectations of. But FiM is genuinely a very good show, made all the more surprising that each episode is basically a 23 minute commercial and that previous MLP cartoons were garbage, and it stands out as being a cartoon for girls that's actually well thought out, well-written, and not sexist and offensive.
I know that if I have a daughter, she's sure as hell not going to watch any of the garbage made for girls that I was stuck with growing up - PPG and FiM on the other hand, hell yes.
Basically, Lauren Faust is awesome.

The new TMNT is arguably better than the old from what I've heard. It does have an overarching story plot like Gargoyles tended to have. Which of the cartoons you listed, is probably my personal favorite.
Which, my favorite cartoon as a child was DBZ. A show with surprisingly more sweet moments that I can remember.
Also, Jackie Chan Adventures will be a show my child will watch. Male or female. 😮
