Yeah, until a group decides its in their religions best interest to take out another. (Some christians thought it was religiosly the right thing to do to kill a goup of muslims) As Peach said, there are extreamists in many religions.

Do the christians even do that anymore? That whole Crusader fiasco was in medieval times.

both Christianity AND Islam preach peace. Extremists and ignorant people in both camps make the rest look bad.

The first crusade was actually a counter attack, the muslims actually started the offensive first. The later crusades were indeed fiascoes, though.

Definitely agree that the first crusade was a counter attack. However not all the rest were terrible horrible things. Pushing back invaders to where they came from is srsbzns. Germany wasn't allowed to keep it's conquered territories after WW2 was it? I'd say it was a similar situation with some of the proceeding crusades.

Christianity has a distinct problem of not having it's own personal Empire like Islam. That and it is older so it has become generally calmer in recent years compared to Islam. Even during the First Crusade, I don't believe Islam was that old.
