Because there's a lot more to debating then simply arguing about who or what is better. There's actual formats to be followed and such.

And I'm not at all avoiding the point. If you're in an argument with someone and it's just getting hostile, then you walk away. I don't get why that's such a hard concept. If people could learn to stop acting like children and be civil towards each other then it would not be a problem.

Probably not wlk away, but try to tell them not to get so hostile. I did that in the Ganon and Sephiroth v.s. Darth Nihilus and Darth Sion thread.

And I have already said this before. There is absolutely no excuse for acting the way Nikk did. Ignoring a request does not excuse the pure vitriol that he was spewing everywhere. The way he was acting was nothing BUT hostile. Someone not giving evidence in a debate over who's the stronger video game character is NOT the end of the world, something that I think some of the people in this forum need to learn.

Another thing people need to realize is that 90% of the time, the person they're debating with has already decided that they are right, regardless of the former's efforts to prove their point.

A lot of the time, debating is futile.
