I would argue that Sidious is a better villain than Voldemort, because Star Wars is better written after all.

But I wouldn't argue him being stronger.

I dunno and we get into the point of pure subjectivity as opposed to objectivity.

I always loved magic when I grew up probably had something to do with Skeletor and the original he man cartoon. I was never a huge star wars fan and didn't go crazy over harry potter until order of the phoenix and was instantly hooked.

I always liked star wars but wasn't overly obsessing with it and my favorite of the entire series is revenge of the sith. Probably looking back now I have done a 180 and would say Darth Sidious is my favorite star wars character followed by Darth Maul. Vader lost many cool points in seeing him whine throughout 2 films as an adult in the prequels and seeing how stupid of a character he was.

Last season of Heroes is almost as good as the first actually.

Good stuff.

Both are fine series but between them I'm not sure which I like better.

But Sidious is a better villain than Voldy, of that I'm sure. Voldemort's villainy came down to basically him being a racist. Bad thing, yeah, but Sidious was as well in a sense so they cancel out.

Yeah, Samuel is a perfect example of how to do a villian without making him 'teh most powerful special evar!' A trap that they fell into with Papa Patrelli and his lameass self. The rest of the season is just great, and its written really damn well.

Sidious was only kind of a racist. His Empire was completely so, 'Aliens' were second-hand citizens and one novel has a town completely purged of them, but Sidious himself worked with aliens quite alot. Maul wasn't human for one.

I'd pick Harry Potter over star wars but that ultimately comes down to me enjoying magic and Voldemort over the jedi/sith. I don't think Voldy's villainy can be summed up that easily. Voldy was all about power as well with him as the centerpiece of an entire realm of wizards placing their faith in him.

This matchup makes perfect sense as these two series have immense fanbases and two totally evil bad guys. It makes perfect sense to compare them in every way especially combat formidability.

Well Sidious could just snap his neck like a twig. And his vastly superior reflexes and speed would mean that he could do so before Voldemort could get off a spell.

Nah, it pretty much is. Voldy wants to live forever and kill mudbloods. As for power, he was content to leave someone else in charge of the Ministry instead of him. Sure he wanted a powerful wand but that was basically because Harry kept cheating the ones he had.

Sidious on the other hand was just much more interesting in how he went about things.

So you're going to debate it with Quan huh?

No, I-I really shouldn't..........

For this match the winner is the one who can attack first. If the SW guys are faster, they'll win.

Eh, depends on what they attack with. Force lightning isn't an insta kill and can be escaped. One can escape Force choke as well since I haven't seen it instakill anything. Lightsaber will hurt but with an opponent who is teleporting around it would be kinda hard to actually hit with it.

They are and they will. Though I fail to see how Voldemort can kill Sidious in a single attack. The Death Spell could be easily dodged or batted aside and Fiendfyre can be telekinetically held off or simply outrun.

..... I mean, not that I'm arguing or anything.

It sounds like you believe in Sidious here. I see no reason as to not represent him ? This won't take that long save to find youtube videos but even then it might not be necessary unless someone disputes something from the films.

Give in and accept my challenge. Come on I even emailed this gideon fella.

Yesm but he wants to rule in power over everyone. He also implemented a puppet who he kills in the latest movie for no other reason than he felt like it at the time. The entire wizardry world knows Voldemort calls the shots until his death.

He won't. They're wouldn't be anyone hit kills unless they managed to make the attacks hit through unconventional means. Which is what would need to happen.

Fiendfyre, while able to be held off, would only need to serve as a distraction. Stupefy, Crucio, whatever would likely be what ultimately pins Sidious down, where upon Avada Kedavra can be used to end things.

Sidious has used his TK to snap steel in half. He can break Voldemorts neck if it comes down to that.

Unlikely. When Voldemort used it against Dumbledore he was certainly distracted by it and yet Voldemort didn't take advantage of that at all.

I hope you havn't been reading some of RJ's arguments on apparition, because he doesn't know a damn thing about what he's talking about. Its never been used in that way or to that extent ever in the movies. Theres never been a scene where a wizard dodges something with it or uses it in combat.

You're so close to accepting this just go ahead and do it already. Represent the dark side against the darkest wizard of all time. Do it, as Voldemort said to Potter. or as Sidious said to Anakin.

True, but Sith prefer the more chokey methods compared to the brutal neck snapping. Going by Vader anyway.

Probably just having too much fun.

From what I can recall from the movies, you're right. But then again, it is used often in battles in the books and the movie apparation doesn't seem strikingly different so I'd assume they can. Besides, battles where the competitors are apparating everywhere would get confusing for the audience.

Edit: Eh, nevermind. I just recalled an instance where someone apparated while attacked in the movies. Hahaha Dobby still died though.

Anywho, I don't plan to argue it further so we'll leave it at that. 😛

I started a new Pokemon game on LeafGreen. My Pokemon team is composed of the positions of the Five-Man Band. Hero, Lancer, Heart(Chick), Big Guy, Smart Guy, and 6th Ranger.

Let's see who can guess which Pokemon I used for each. Hint: My starter is the Hero obviously.
