You guys should be talking more about how awesome Red Dead Redemption is.

I recently beat it, and I am sorry GK, but I have decreed that John Marston is a superior character to Ezio. Sorry man.

I recently started re-playing it on PS3, and damn, I'm amazed at how shitty it looks in 720p on the PS3. Though I just finished re-playing AC:Brotherhood, which looked great, so I may be a little skewed in my observation. Still, RDR is a great game.

Ezio during the story of AC2 is equal, if not superior, to John though. He was more interesting there than he was in Brotherhood.

~ Anyone listen to Gackt?

I was not hugely impressed by RDR. And Ezio goes through character development like no other character in games - literally. How many games span 23 years of someone's lifetime in one game?

I used to listen to Gackt, ages ago. Like back in high school.

Yeah no, not by a long shot. I liked Marsten a lot, but a better character than Ezio? Not a chance, Bro.

And Ezio will be getting even more characterization in Revelations and Embers! Hell yes.

Oh yes, to a signifigant extent, actually.

And it's Marston, by the way.

I can think of like a couple. But yeah, point made.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes is a great movie.

So I heard. Might see that next.

Ezio is a good character only by game standards. Otherwise he's really not that special. And even then I can think of several better characters I've encountered in a game (Shin Megami characters, I'm looking at you <3 ).

uhuh

Spoiler:
Aigis and Junpei? o:

Did anyone see Captain America? I'm quite interested.

I did.

I did,

It's a good film that uses up the different eras of Cap creatively.
It's a cheesy funfest in the right way.
All actors involved nail it. I'm very proud to be a Marvel Zombie for Marvel Studios just keeps making better films.

Captain America was pretty good.

Hahaha, yes.

I'm not sure why that was funny.

And Teddy. For being annoying as hell at the start of the game he has one of the best character arcs ever. I really felt for him by the end. Though really alot of the Social Links were awesome and the SEES from P3 were equally so.

How do you consider "by game standards" a limiting qualifier? Games can explore a character better than most other media. Only superior medium for characterization is books, maybe TV shows if they run long enough.

This is theoretically true, but its no secret that games are notoriously badly written. RPG's like Bioware or MegTen are the exception but this still holds for the majority.

So yeah, they can explore a character really well, but often don't.

Hmmm....

Are the two of you arguing over what makes a good character? Or are you saying that something that explores more of said character is better than something that doesn't?

Because George Bailey is a better character than all of you. 😛

No, we're arguing about how good of a character Ezio is. The General (and Peach) are suffering under the delusion arguing that he is an incredible example of character development and personality, whereas I just thinks he a pretty well done archetype who matures over his game (and then at the end of AC2 wallbangs so hard he shatters the vatican. Yes, lets your greatest enemy who happens to be the most powerful man in the world live, that will go well ).
