Woohoo, official off-topic thread!

I really don't get all the love Portal gets.

I went in expecting from the hype to be completely blown away, to find myself playing a veritable masterpiece.

Instead I just got a pretty good game.

The hype kind of killed Portal for me.

Quit trying to be edgy cowboy.

Interesting, new gameplay with a good plot and fun script. Could have done without the hype but hey, just look at MLP.

I'm not sure if I'm okay with that.

Edit: This is to Aura, stop that BloodRain.

And honestly, I wasn't too impressed with the plot, personally.

Being edgy? ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

BloodRain finds me pretty. ๐Ÿ™‚

Clearly.

You really know how to make a man feel unattractive Aura. ๐Ÿ™

It's what I do.

Its true, I can't get enough of that horn.

*ahem*

Escaping the killer AI isnt the most original but it carried the main puzzle focus well.

Eh, I guess it was good but like I said, the hype made me expect so much more.

Also, shut up Aura, you big meany.

I....... Hate........ Those...... Goddamn....... Ponies!

It's like mixing in the Pokemon rage with Yugioh and utter lunacy....

I DESPISE it....

And I hated those things too.....

Anyone here a massive fanboy/girl for something?

Zelda and Metroid are the only things I'm a fanboy for. I can't actually think of any more.

*Obligatory Pony "Haters Gonna Hate" GIF*

I enjoy Ponies as a refreshing show aimed for younger audiences that still is able to incorporate humor for older crowds. Some of the fan chatter has made me interested in contemplating back story for the characters, and yes, I am in fact working on a short story about it, but other than that I'm not very active in pony fandom. I visited Giant in the Playground's forums for probably the first few weeks of getting into the show before just stopping, so...I'm not sure where I was going with this, but I think My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is a step in a good direction for future generations, as long as they can learn the lessons it has to offer and won't be jaded/muddled by older fans.

Schrodinger.

That must be very confusing.

Edit: I'm really starting to like this midget.

The fear test is the part of SFA that sticks with me the strongest even now. It was ridiculously difficult, at least for me, and in fact was the first time I ever used the pencil trick to tap the buttons faster than humanly possible. It did in fact scare me, and I loved it all the same.

And admittedly, Adventures did give Fox his best characterization as a snarky 90s style action hero. My personal interpretation of him is still that, just as a pilot.

Forgot to respond to this yesterday for some reason, but anyway.. It wasn't necessarily the difficulty of the fear test that made it stick out to me, but just the concept itself, and how scary it actually was to some extent for me too as a youngin'. Ironically, the most difficult parts for me were the tests of strength where you had to button mash A over and over (was shortly before the fear test, and when you were getting one of the Krazoa Spirits where you had to pit your strength against that of a Sharpclaw).

Couldn't agree more on Fox's character in Adventures too. Aside from some of his lines and most of his facial expressions, the one thing about him that stuck out as a 90's action style hero was the good ol' Great Fox Rock he was listening to at the beginning. ๐Ÿ˜›

Couldn't say that I am a fanboy(at least not in the sense that the word is used on these forums) of anything, let alone a massive one. I am, however, quite a fan of some things. Things like:

- Might and Magic(especially the old Universe)
- Diablo
- Warcraft(though WoW has been systematically dismantling my like for it)
- Starcraft
- Babylon 5
- Mass Effect

There are lots of other things I like, but not quite enough to consider myself a fan.

Massive fan, yes. Many things. Star Wars (not the EU), X-Files, Matrix, Doctor Who, Sailormoon, Assassin's Creed, Guild Wars, Harry Potter, Gundam Wing, Lord of the Rings, Tamora Pierce novels. Still a pretty big Zelda and Final Fantasy fan though less so than I used to be. GK got me pretty into Metroid last year.

I wouldn't quite say I'm a fangirl, though; for starters, I'm able to criticize the things I like and recognize that they have flaws (something that most fanboys/girls are simply incapable of doing). Second, while I'm a fan of the thing that started the concept of online fandom and coined a lot of common fandom terms (The X-Files), I've never gotten into the fandom side of things.
