No I didn't.
Damn you Blax. I spent the early parts of that video focused on the look of the gameplay and didn't even look at the guy he was fighting. The minute I heard "But we're friends, right?" I was confused for a second. And then I noticed and now I can't forget. Granted, KH2 ending fight pretty much establishes them as would be Jedi fighters. Complete with beating up somebody who uses lightsaber.
But that aside, gameplay looks fun and hectic, simulating a real lightsaber battle I guess. Granted, from a video it is harder to tell the quality of the actual control. However, it seemed to flow quite solidly and I could see why people would like them.
Yeah, its really frentic and fast paced. You can't tell from the video, but basically how it works is you have a score of 'lightsaber offence' and 'lightsaber defence' out of 3 with each rank making you more likely to hit/block, but you as the player kind of have limited control over those things. So the whole time you're whacking at the guy and trying like crazy to get through and kill him, but at the same time he's doing the same and you never know if he'll hit you or not. And you need to keep moving so you can do all the crazy moves. AND you have to factor in Force powers. AND AND sometimes you're fighting 2 or more dark jedi at once. Its really intense.
Its even better in Jedi Outcast because you spend the first half of the game only able to use guns, so when you finally get a lightsaber if feels sooooooo good. In Jedi Academy it loses it's charm because you have a lightsaber throughout, so its not as special.
/gush mode.
So yeah, thats why I picked those games.

Well, of course. Lightsaber combat is based in real swordfighting, to an extent, but it's going to be very different just due to the fact that you're fighting with something that has no weight at all except for the bit in your hand.
Ahhh, Jedi Knight. When SW games didn't suck. I spent so much time messing around with the multiplayer and downloading skins to use in it.

Even though I can't stand Christmas songs for the most part, this made me laugh.
