Watched it. And....
Yeah, I'm really not seeing it. I mean...I guess it's not bad. There were some jokes that were kinda funny and the characters weren't awful(for the most part) I suppose. But it was rather punny(or rather pony), the dialogue was merely meh, and I honestly found myself not caring. I mean, first we're talking about this big doomsday witch pony, skids to a halt so we can watch Twilight go around and meet the only characters who matter, and then back to the tension I guess.
So yeah, not in love with it, not seeing what's so special. Granted, I'm not in the know of the budget for the show.

She was one of the funnier things in the episode. And cute I guess. But I'm not really that into shyness. Case and point, Hinata annoys me.You're character is clearly the most powerful being in the show, due to his fingers.
Hinata as a pony....mmm
~ Here's a question...what would you all do if humans had six fingers instead of five?

Is pretty much what Fluttershy is. Though to be fair, Fluttershy at least actively tried to show interest in characters that aren't our protagonist.
Was I born this way or do all humans just wake up with exactly one extra finger?

Then I cannot see how Fluttershy could win many people over.
Humans have 6 instead of 5 fingers, i.e. born that way like everyone else.

...What?
Hinata WISHES she could be half as awesome as Fluttershy. uhuh

Fluttershy is not one dimensional. mmm And I really hope they don't flanderise her.
They actually do a very good job making none of the characters one-dimensional.
Having a main defining characteristic does not make one one-dimensional. Fluttershy (as well as every other MLP character) all have other various personality traits to them.

Indeed Fluttershy is the better of the two.
Granted, I'm only going off of one episode. Character development and shits happen later.

One-dimensional and cute should not be reasons as to why people like her so much. You'd live with it? That's it? ahah
None of the ponies are one-dimensional, which is my personal reason for liking the show in general and Rarity in particular, because her "role" is so easy to write as flat.

Fluttershy is not at all one-dimensional. While she's shy, she's also quick to defend her friends from anything. And that includes full-grown dragons, which she's explicitly terrified of.None of the ponies are one-dimensional, which is my personal reason for liking the show in general and Rarity in particular, because her "role" is so easy to write as flat.
Rarity especially is a good example; they wanted a pony with an interest in fashion, so instead of going for the stereotype of one that's image-obsessed and shallow (think Quinn from Daria), Faust took that and made it her passion and career, and made Rarity also highly intelligent and talented with other things as well, instead. A great move.
