GW has been out for years. TOR has not been out for a year, and is already over about a fourth that.

It seems very obvious that TOR will surpass GW, and it already has surpassed it in quality, not like that is particularly difficult.

Edit: Wait, yeah, GW is free to play isn't it? Wtf are you talking about Phanteros?

TOR's quality is...really low, though. The voiced cutscenes are cool and all, but there are too damn many of them - you have to sit through a cutscene for every quest you pick up and turn in. The light/dark side options are, as was pointed out before, completely arbitrary and often nonsensical, and there's generally no acknowledgement of your actions at all. Like, when I was playing, I mostly played a Jedi Knight that took Dark Side actions (why? Because it amused me).

And yet despite the fact that I was doing things that ranged from simply out of character for most Jedi to blatantly evil, things that the least of would have any Padawan have a close watch on them...the most you get is your NPC master essentially going "Well, you're a bit odd. Let's promote you to a Knight!"

No. It doesn't work that way. It shouldn't work that way.

The fact that the storytelling revolves around voiced and animated cutscenes also means that adding new content to the game is going to be very difficult, time-consuming, and expensive. They won't be able to add new content at anywhere near an ideal rate to keep people interested in the game. The gameplay itself is literally WoW with lightsabers, though I blame EA for a lot of that, since the info they had given us on the game a few years ago was drastically different than how it turned out.

Also, GW has sold about 7 million copies as of now, and the hype for GW2 is immense. While TOR has sold a bit over 2 million copies so far, about 1.5 million of that was in the first two weeks, meaning that it's only sold half a million in the month and a half since. And it's got, what, 1.6-1.7 million subscribers? That means that it's already lost about 15% of their initial subscribers, in under two months. That's a lot. They need people to keep subscribing to make the game a success - as I pointed out, the success of p2p model MMOs is not determined by the initial sales, but by how many people subscribe long-term.

WoW's also losing subs like a leaky sieve; I think it lost something like a million last year and another 100,000 in the past couple of months.

Peach I have never played TOR.

I've seen it played. Didn't interest me.

So i played League of Legends last night... pretty fun game but each game takes way too long.

Agreed. Used to play with MG, I ran a decent Shaco.

TOR looks pretty shitty to me, tbh.

Nah, its pretty epic imo. I was making fun of those quests because they stuck out. I havn't really seen anything that dumb in any of the other quests I've done.

But then I'm playing Agent, and the Agent story and quests are apparantly the best. And they are pretty damn cool. ^_^

The Jedi Knight and Sith storylines are full of stuff like that. At least early on, anyway.

I just finished making chocolate truffles 😄 Messy and time-consuming but awesome.

I'm going to give Microsoft a call, but if they end up ****ing me I'm not going to spend a dime getting it fixed. I'm tired of MS's bullshit.

Anyway, finished Fulgrim. I think he's pretty much my favorite Primarch now, mostly due to his buffoonish nature. He's like a cartoon character. I laughed out loud while reading the passages describing his killing a wraithlord and avatar of kain using his fists.

Well it's very unfortunate she couldn't recover and go on for a few more decades.

May she rest in peace.

Edit: Damnit sniping posts

Fulgrim?

Lorgar beats his prissy ass.

Isn't Lorgar the weakest Primarch?

Not anymore.

Now he is easily one of the strongest, beating Fulgrim physically, and being psychically second to only Magnus the Red.

He actually telepathically commanded Horus, and Horus was forced to obey.

Ohohohohoho decent

I'm having a lot of fun with Blitzcrank and Tristana...

I don't own Blitz though... my tears when the week ends will be great.
