It's pretty simple. If it's someone cross-dressing, then the term is usually "transvestite". If it's someone that's transgender, then you use that or trans.

The original concept art called her a 'Newhalf', which is a japanese term for a male-to-female transgender woman. She was a transexual from the start. Just watch the video from 1.50 to 2.42.

An AI based on a living person (in universe), who is female. So I think she still counts as female.
