Also Western cartoons are on the whole better animated than anime.

Fate Zero's animation is top notch, but since its just 25/6 episodes that is to be expected. Ufotable rocks.

I do like Young Justice's style. Much better than that Teen Titans style.

Depends on the show really. Young Justice is not a great example of distinct western animation though. Something like Ren and Stimpy or the Eds is more awesome.

Lets do a comparison:

vs

Immediately obviously different. Different body structure and style. Justice League Batman is almost half as wide as he is tall and has less realistic proportions. Young Justice Batman is more realistic.

Now group shots:

Again, body structure, style, but also the shape of the eyes and head, proportions, the thickness of lines etc etc. Young Justice is very crisp, Teen Titans is very anime and Justice League is very cartoony/Bruce Timm.

You have some gems, like the Justice League and Batman: TAS. But then you have shit like Young Justice and the new Thunder Cats. Just terrible. Terrible.

Yeah Teen Titans wasn't the best example. I haven't seen that show in a while.

Ben 10 would have been a better example.

I don't care about Ben 10 except for how hot Gwen is. Dunno if its similar to Young Justice but if so, so what? Its not like all anime is wildly different from each other either.

Justice League and Batman: TAS are both reflective of blander, more economical Western style animation, which is typically the case.

Young Justice and Thunder Cats are both more in-line with the glossy, effects laden anime style. Especially Thunder Cats.

edit: As for Ben 10, at least for alien force and ultimate alien, it was pretty much Justice League-esque art style wise.

Thunder Cats looks a shit ton better than either JLA and Batman anyway.
