I disagree about Femshep. Maybe in the first two games, but by the last one Shepard has a fairly defined and locked personality and speaks independant from the player most of the time. She certainly has a more defined personality than most VG characters imo.

The plot makes it clear that Aqua is pretty much the only competent one of the bunch...and she is the strongest.

And that just happens to be a game with 3 protagonists. That doesn't stop Aqua from being "A female protagonist that doesn't suck."
