Actually, this isn't socialism at all.I wish it were.
Uh, yeah. It's socialism. In America, that's a bad word and I think you're associating my perspective with that: I do not view "socialism" as bad.
Obamacare, however, is a very textbook example of socialism.
Playing petty word games to avoid the American Stigma of the word "socialism" is something that both sides of the aisle have been doing. America is Socialist-Democratic hybrid. Sure, in middleschool, you will be taught that we are a "Democratic Republic", but that describes the government itself, not the overall system.

It's really not, though. It's regulation of a private industry with no public option - it hardly qualifies as a socialist policy at all. It doesn't go nearly as far as it should, though I think it's as far as it can go for the moment. Hopefully the GOP loses control of Congress after this fall so things can push further.
And clearly by the fact that I said "I wish it were" I don't see socialism as a bad thing, either. I'm from a lower working-class family with strong union ties, FFS 😛

That is not the only thing it provides (but if it were the only thing it provided (meaning, just regulation), I would agree that it is not socialist legislation). It will also provide services. Goods and services which are obtained and/or funded by the procurement of resources from the people: textbook definition of socialism.

I still think you're using the naughty "American" idea of socialism. No, it is not the oogie boogie "socialism" that Americans think it is. We will not become Nazis like many of the GOP claim.

I agree: I made a similar point. We got the watered down, crap version of what Obamacare should have been.

I am a registered Republican. I do not like many Republican or democrat ideals. I only registered so I could vote in the Republican Primaries because I did not want the Santorum or Bachmann trains to win! mwhahahahaha
But, no, I do not think the dems or GOP have the proper solutions, right now.

I know he's an anti-brony. Obviously he hasn't watched the show once and only finds Friendship is Magic "kiddy and girly" because he had to remember the old version back when it was a hit for the women during the late '80s and mid-'90s despite the latest MLP being a remake that Powerpuff Girl and Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends creator, Lauren Faust, didn't know would actually entertain audiences both kid and adult alike with it's unique cast of characters, memorable songs and excellent quality until it was aired in 2010 and got surprising results when even the guys in their teens and mid-20s were liking it and had no shame in admitting it and still had their masculinity intact (just ask this guy). Anyone still acting immature two years later by still not watching one episode and still giving it negative comments is hopeless as they hold nothing in any argument and I should know. I was one of them once and when I finally opened my eyes, I wanted to go back in time and beat myself silly 'cause much to my dissatisfaction, I was a moron. If you still want to be ignorant, fine. Be Asian Justin Bieber then.

I have seen 2 or 3 episodes with my 4 year-old daughter.
The show is very lame and irritating. However, Dora the Explorer is definitely more annoying.
I simply do not "get it" and I probably never will. However, my daughter loves the show.
So I hold the show in a negative light but I did watch a few episodes.
