Point taken about the atmosphere but I think not having regenerative health and having a health bar that requires something for it to fill back up would add even more tension as you have to be careful when to use it. It's not exactly scary but it makes it a challenge nontheless.
I am, tbh. Everything I've seen about 6 has made me want the game more. Having regenerating health isn't high on my list of concerns.
Having regenerating health loses a sense of realism for this game. It's Resident Evil. It needs some of that realism to make it more interesting as you're a human against all this. It needs no inspiration from the likes of Gears of War that tells you "who needs medicine when you can stand behind a wall?"
Btw, this is not an automatic turn off for me for the game overall and I'm still getting it. I'm just not okay with the minor changes is all. Also, I'm not intending to bash Gears. I like the games but I don't think it belongs in this kind of franchise. It's Resident-frikkin-Evil, people.
