Yeah. The sad thing is, you can see how disappointed Joe actually is, like he doesn't want to be slamming the game.

The thing I love about Joe is that he gets so passionate about games. You can tell how genuine his frustration is. Its a shame it couldn't be good.

Aye.

So much potential, so much promise. All lost on kinect's shitty design.

I sometimes wonder if it's even the Kinect's fault. I think it's just developers rushing these games which is why they're crap. Play Dance Central and/or Gunstringer and tell me they're bad.

Those games don't require a high level of intricacy, though. Even Dance Central really only picks up certain parts of your body.

It has major issues dealing with three dimensional movement, which is why Star Wars sucked so bad.

I thought it read everything on me well. I slightly screwed up some of the dance moves and I thought it even picked up on that and gave me less points. That or I suck at dancing....don't judge me.

Star Wars Kinect is like Duke Nukem Forever: you play hot patato long enough and the potato you used to play with will get cold, tasteless and bruised. What I mean by that is that SWK has been moved from company to company and I don't think many expected it to look pretty in the end because it had to be reworked on a bunch of times.

At least people are still aware the Kinect exists.

PS Move, anyone?

It has certain areas of the body that it uses to judge the rest of you more than others, though it does pick up a large portion afaik.

It doesn't help that it hasn't really had many great games. Kinect is never going to be anything more than a novelty unless they put some serious thought in to it.

I'd considered buying it, but then decided not to. Yeah, it really is just a WII that can play shooters.

Sad too, as the hardware actually had potential. I got the chance to play RE5 on it; it was awesome.

Well, that's the thing- the PS Move does absolutely everything it was designed for, carrying on a long tradition from Sony of competent tech that fails to market as well as they imagined.

There's nothing wrong with it. It's just not very appealing, and an accessory like that cannot be compared to the Wii Remote which is built into the functionality of the system from the ground up. Software interest has been pretty low.

Whilst the Kinect was present as a whole new gaming experience. Its major problem is that it simply doesn't work well enough. I understand a Kinect 2 is coming.

I think the Kinect's problem is people programming poorly with it, rather than it not actually working well.

And the Move essentially is the Wiimote, complete with 90% of the use of it being "waggle the remote!".

I dunno- I've seen a lot of evidence about it not being able to do what was promised, especially with more than one person, and also with movements at speed.

The Kinect is also annoying in how much room it requires you to have in order to use it - you have to stand something like 6-8 feet away!

Eye Toy is the best.

^Nuh uh the Powerglove is the best.

Welp, that ain't good.

Maybe this will make developers shift focus away from stupidly expensive game engines and graphics and just make, y'know, fun games.

HAHAHAHAHA!!! Next gen is going to slaughter many companies because they haven't figured out the obvious solution. Its just wishful thinking they would learn.

Its so dumb that they think we need perfect graphics in order for a game to be immersive when you can get the same results from just being a damn good game with good writing. 'Quick, we have to render every blade of grass! Thats the only way to make a good game!'

I'll just wait until Persona 5 comes out looking like ass and steals Game of the Year 5 years running until it loses out to Deadly Premonition 2.

I don't it has to do with the graphics. I think it has to do with the poor decision making when marketing a game and not controlling budgets. For example EA spent a shitload of money just to advertise TOR which hurt them in the long run along with voice acting demands. Thats one of the reasons why Dead Space 3 needs make 5 mil so they can recoup their losses. Sometimes a developer goes under simply because a publisher can't milk their game to death aka Radical Entertainment.

Edit: Until devolopers realize there are better ways of going about this. Keep expecting genres to be saturated with shooter mechanics and short 6 hour games with tact on multiplayer.
