I'm just glad its over.
Spoiler:
though I wouldn't be able to dispite them with my crappy physics knowledge, I'm not sure if Goku's speed would warrant him at the speed of light. Will say that it was cool that they tried to quantify both of their feats
Umm...couldn't there be some time travel at work or just make another one. the DC universe can do that right?

Superman wins the fight but since he punched the freaking Earth out of existence I assume he went into a chronic depression afterwards, a mere mess of a man.Granted I assume there are ways to bring the Earth back.
That was beautiful.
Pure beauty.
Goku got more credit than he deserved in the actual animation, whereas Superman got shafted in that and in the actual numbers comparison--he's actually thousands of times faster than light both in reflex feats and flight speed--.
Either way they got the result right. The animation itself is 'just for fun' anyway as they say, so its not how the actual fight would necessarily happen--especially seeing as the stat comparisons were not close in any regard by Boomstick's own words.

He's not that fast.

Uh....
Something is missing from the equation in that case. Granted it would just bring back Goku too if it brought back the Earth.
But yeah Supes sucks either way. uhuh

Yes he is, by feats. Not by writer statements no, but by actual feats.
The dude has casually moved during a time suspension where a fraction of a nanosecond felt like an entire minute or so.
Seeing as a nanosecond is barely enough time for light to even move 12 inches, he's a number with multiple zeros times faster than light.
Same here. ^
Man that video was... art. It was art. Still blown away by it all. Need to watch it again sometime.
But yeah, they made Goku last longer in the fight than he normally should've for entertainment's sake, but I'm glad they made it that way as opposed to it being too much shorter, because that'd be boring. They also gave Goku a non-canon feat in the fight from the Android 13 movie with him absorbing and manipulating the energy from the spirit bomb, but whatever.
I legit lol'd when Goku saved Superman from the randomly placed kryptonite after a building was destroyed, and when Superman said "Ultimate form huh? About time your ran out of hairstyles".
Death Battle will probably never top itself again after this.
Well I'm suprised Supes didn't just take the fight to space since Goku wouldn't be able to last in the vacuum.
But there was the whole sneezing the solar system away that happened way back when so I don't know.
I was legit suprised to find out Goku was that fast from the numbers and also suprised at how weak his strength actually is compared to Supes. I don't understand Aura's Superman hate but whatever.
They actually underrated Goku's strength quite a bit.
That's because they gave him what Goku's stats would have been if he turned SSJ4 right in the beginning of the Buu saga where he failed to move with 40 tons on his body. Almost 600 times Earth's gravity. (And that kinda gets confirmed as valid later on when Vegeta said to Pui Pui that maybe he himself would struggle in 500 times Earth's gravity, but that he doesn't feel 10x effect at all. Assuming that line was accurate in the dub)
In GT, Goku was able to lift a portion of a city in ssj4 form. that's more like millions of tons, not 160,000 tons.
Not that it would have mattered. The difference in quantifiable strength is still actually much greater than the strength difference between a man and an ant. Meaning if Superman decided to grapple with Goku and rip off a limb, there's pretty much nothing Goku could have done.

That's an outlier, not an average by any means.
Interesting, though IIRC didn't Goku struggle to lift a building in GT? I don't know I only remember bits and pieces of it but even if they were to give Goku his full potential it still wouldn't have done much as shown in video. In fact taking the numbers at face value, Goku was actually given the benefit of the doubt even if his strength is supposed to be in the millions of tons.
But oh well....I wonder where the DBZ fanboy rage is?

Kid Goku couldn't push back a building. He turned into ssj4 and did it easily.
and then ssj4 goku struggled mightily to lift up a street intersection of a city from a good ways underground.
it is the best lifting feat in DB history.

He has several nanosecond or less feats of movement. It's not an outlier. Just rare.
His high average is at or around lightspeed combat wise. Maybe a little above. This isn't the Flash we're talking about.
You can't be too literal with the science; portrayal has to come in to it.
Flash's quantifiable speed feats are far superior than that.
Portrayal is thus kept in tact. Even still, writer 'intentions' and portrayals are far less important than actual canon feats performed in the books.
Even still, by portrayal, Superman matched Barry's (the best flash, johns supports me so NYAH to you Wally-ites) perception speed, in the same comic that Barry talked about perceiving things in attoseconds. 😐

I know Flash is faster.
No. Feats and portrayals go hand in hand, at least in terms of vs matches.
Superman kept up with Barry; there's no evidence that he matched Barry completely, nor that he's as fast as you say he is. That, and Superman doesn't constantly see the world in slow motion the way Barry seems to.
