Well that's just the way it works. Trying to handle it by youself by attacking back will just get you in trouble as well.
If you don't like it, no one is making you stay. A lot of what is reported as bashing is not bashing under any definition of it. 90% of the time it's "they disagreed with me so I'll accuse them of flaming or trolling". Sorry, that doesn't fly.

I know, that's the trick, so many people are caught defending themselves.
I'm not the one being bullied. And if everyone who was being flamed took that advice, you would very quickly become surrounded by jerks, so really, what a thing to say.

Then why are you acting like it's a personal slight against you when it's nothing to do with you?
'Defending yourself' does not excuse breaking rules. And most of the time, people who get flamed are because they do that to others as well. It doesn't excuse it, but it's generally the 'jerks' that have issue with how things are run anyway.
