Superman was hit by the same tech and went completely nuts. (disordered paranoid thoughts about Lois, flying around as Clark, using HV as Clark, grabbing a tanker truck throwing it into the air and blowing it up as Clark).The same tech seems to have killed a normal human in a few minutes.
It seems reasonable that DS is being hit with the same stuff since Batman found the guy who sold the transmitter and dragged out the fact that it can send it's signal anywhere in the universe.
