Floating... There was no ground, and he saw only the girl before him, her blond hair and amber eyes catching his eye before all else. He saw her extend a hand to him and reached his out toward her, waking just before their fingers met.
Dante opened his eyes, glancing at the clock. He had apparently passed out at his desk, as three hours had passed, his mind drifting to the dream he'd just had. He'd seen the girl in a dream before, but now he was growing rather agitated at the fact he never got any farther in it. He knew that if he met her, she'd be the one. He stood, shaking his head in an attempt to forget the dream for now, his phone ringing.
"Devil May Cry Private Investigating Services... Right... Sorry, we closed at nine." Another bum job. He was sick of tailing guys for their wives only to find out they weren't cheating on them, but going to night classes to better their dancing skills... Well, not all had ended that way, but still... He wasn't about to live another one. This time, he was looking to find the big score... the Jackpot...
Pulling on his red trench coat, he walked out to his car, throwing his sword and guns into the passenger seat beside him. He turned the key in the ignition and started the '67 Impala, peeling it out toward the bar downtown in hopes he might find some decent work there...
[color=limegreen]Dante sheathed his sword and holstered his guns, getting out of his car. "I just had this thing detailed, Toishi... This had better be good." He smirked, knowing that Toishi was his biggest source for work. "You sorry son of a b*tch... You got any work for me?" He smiled a bit, having been joking when he stepped out acting as a threat to him.

(o.O I hate you. Never talk to me again D= 😛)Aubrey turned his head, when someone else walked in. He took another swig of his drink, and smiled.
"Hey there, Silver." Aubrey said, smiling. Normally, he'd speak in a more commanding tone, but outside of the base, he and Silver were just inter-species-friends. Aubrey could see a few people give Silver a stern, unwanting look, and a few murmmered to their neighbors. Aubrey knew, both here, and at the base, nobody really liked Silverin. Aubrey really didn't care, and besides, Silver just plain looked cool, plus he was nice. Aubrey waved him over to the seat next to him, and smiled.
"So, how's everything over there? I had to leave-" Before Aubrey finished, his Comm. boomed for all Marines to report to the base. Aubrey glanced at Silver, nodded, and darted for the door, out, and into the street lights again, moving at a slow jog.

Silverin took a quick swig of his beer, and threw down the money, thinking it unfortunate that he hadn't been able to finish it. He picked up his speed and he quickly caught up with Aubrey. The Military base was only a short distance from the bar, and Aubrey alongside Silverin soon arrived there.
Aubrey looked cautiously at Silver, and then looked at the entrance to their Base. The caution alarm was booming over the speakers, and everyone was running around frantically.
"I didn't think opening a ship was this much of a problem..." Aubrey leaning over, and looking around. He shrugged, walked in, and started to head towards the ship hangar, only to be stopped by the Gunnery Sgt.
"Hold it, Soldier. Ship's off limits 'till we can get the specimen off of it. Then, we'll have you, Aubrey, and your troupe, including Mr. Silverin here, and cleansweep it. Make sure we didn't miss anything." The Sgt. nodded to them both, and marched off, towards the Hangar.
Aubrey had a discontent look on his face, and elbowed Silver in the... Uh... Ribs?
"What kind of species do you think it is?" Aubrey asked him, looking at him through the corner of his eye.
"I'm gonna bet you anything it's dangerous. Someone's gonna have there face stripped clean off."
Derek's father had made it up to his advanced unit and arrived at the door when the loud speaker came on again. "To all the soliders about to go inside the ship, we wish you the best of luck getting the crew and specimen out quickly, that is all." Shortly after, Advanced team's leader unsealed the door and went inside.
Derek just stared on. "Now we wait..."
The speaker blew back to life quickly. "All teams move into the ship when Advanced Team gives the all clear or hostiles on board signal."
An ear piercing alarm sounded and a loud speaker crackled to life immediately. "ALL TEAMS GET INTO DEFENSIVE POSITIONS IMMEDIATELY!!" Soliders all over rushed to positions as screams came in over portable radios. Gunfire sounded as a small portion of the advanced team came scrambling out of the ship as what seemed to be "enraged crew members followed with blunt weaponry such as wrenchs, hammers, and working equipment.
"What the-" But Aubrey couldn't finish. Some sort of squid-looking thing came flying through the air, right at Silver and Aubrey. Aubrey dived foward, pulling out his M16A2, and shooting three burst-shots at the thing. It landed short of him, and squirmed around. Aubrey shot it again, and then looked up, seeing more of the squid things, along with what looked to be the Crew of the ship, pouring out.
"Um... Silver, I think we should run." Aubrey wasn't one to run away from a battle, but the numbers of these things were to immense to stay behind and fight. Aubrey pulled out his attachable scope/flashlight, hooked it onto his gun, and then started to back away from the scene, firing on anything that got to close. The thought about using his SX3, but figured he should save it for later. Aubrey motioned for Silver to hurry, among all the screams of those who were falling. Aubrey tried to save some of them, but only managed to get three men away from the parasites.
"Run, you idiots!" Aubrey yelled, right before bumping into the Gunny Sgt.
"Boy, you'd better go back there and help those men. So help me I'll-" But the Sgt. got no further, as a member of the crew came up behind him, wailing on his head with a Monkey wrench. Aubrey acted quickly, hoping to save what was left of the Sgt. and pumped the crew member up full of lead. The thing had fallen, but it quickly got back up and tried to attack Aubrey, who shot it's head three times. It went down for good.
The Sgt., had the same fate. Aubrey sighed, crossed himself, and looked at Silver. He saw no emotion, but then again, Silver's eyes were really the only thing visible. Aubrey nodded firmly, got up, and shot a hail of bullets at the creatures, reloading afterwards.
Eric sat anxiously on the edge. Then the commotion began. " Hey Derek I know I asked you this before but is this stuff suppose to happen to man?" Eric looked at Derek with fear in his eyes. " I might be wrong but this looks a bit weird."
Before Eric could get a response from Derek his cellphone began ringing. "Hey I don't know. I might not." Eric replied. " Maybe later if I can get some time but I'm really swamped. I'm not gonna make our date sorry. Just call me later. Eric waited for Derek's Response from the Previous Question.
()(Don't advance too quickly, give eveyone a chance to group up))
Before he could respond to Eric, Derek had fallen out of his chair when a crew member had lunged at him from behind. It was holding a small shovel and looked as if it was ready to kill him. A shot rang out and the creature hit the ground. Six resounding shots went into it's chest and it quit moving. Suddenly the head dislodged and a small four legged vreature leaped at the soldier and crawled into his mouth. The soldier started to gag until he died. Shortly after the soldier got back up holding an M16. Instead of firing on Derek it looked as if it was going to use it as a club. Thinking quickly Derek grabbed his sidearm and shot the infected soldier in the head. The body fell and he aimed at the head waiting for the creature but it never came back. Moving quickly he made it to the M16 and checked the clip.
Eric had fallen on the ground watching the fight between Derek and the man. Staring at the two completely oblivious and with terror in his eyes. Eric quickly made haste and got upon both his legs. "yo Derek I don't Think the thing is friendly." He said to him as he watched Derek kill the man. "And I don't feel very secure. You have any kind of side arm weapon?" Eric was not in the military and he had never went to some kind of firearm camp but his family owned a fire range and he was exceptional in shooting.
"Yeah hold on." Derek pulled his sidearm from it's holster and then thinking about he removed the holster and threw them both to Eric. "We need to secure this are-" Before he could finsh Derek saw his father standing in the small doorway. Smiling he made his way towards him but was shocked to see him holding a wrench and moving towards him. "Oh god.. Dad."
"thanks man" He gave Derek a quick friendly salute. " Ok lets do it. Eric situated the guns to his liking and holstered one with the other in his hand his finger on the trigger. Derek and him started moving. Derek noticed in the distance, his father. at first he motioned toward him but then Derek noticed that his father was different. Eric heard Derek "Oh god.. Dad." Eric stood at attention waiting for the moment to shoot. He was not gonna fire until Derek did. It was his father.
