Its crazy if anyone thinks Thanos can physically hang with superman let alone Pre Crsis. PC superman did sh!t by accident that Thanos can only drool about.
And why can't superman's lung strenght correlate with his overall strenght? Is it because we are talking about superman and not some other character? I can understand why it would be easier to blowout the sun with his super breath than lifting one because it's difficult to grab hold of fire, but if you had a solid star sized object, superman could move it with his biceps with more ease than with his lung muscles. It's true, try to blow at your 1 rep max bench press.

Thanos has been defeted by squirlle girl and hulk. silver age superman feats are to much he moved 10 freaking planets at once without a sweat, moved a black hole to end of universe, can time travel, blow out a sun then relit it, destroyed a galaxy with a sneeze outlived a big bang just like galactus. heck his farts would warp realities.
