Thats kind of like me except I'm more of a boy-oh-dog... 🙂

Now that I look back, it did have some boring parts. 😬

Why would anybody be anxious to see Angelina's animated golden reptile nipples?

Weirdos.

Because people are sick.

Golden?
Reptile?
Nipples?

Giggetti gigetti goo.

Sorry, I just entered this thread cause i heard nipple. Hmm... this movie seems to be getting some mixed reviews. Guess i should check it out.

i was suprisingly entertained with this one. love the acting. CG was top notch. jolie in 3D is way hotter than the real jolie. grendel is f*cking hideous man. that mo fo looked like he got beaten up by an ugly stick while falling face first and hitting every branch of the ugly tree on the way down.

the close ups in the movie will fool you to think that it' s live action. it's almost like madame tussaud's wax museum come to life.

can't wait till some body splices beowulf's screams with leonidas and put it on youtube.

"this is sparta!"
"i am beowulf!"

I thought it was a great movie. The animation didn't bother me (and the response I heard after the movie was the same from other viewers). As for Jolie being nude... hmm.... not really. The forms there but no detail. It was slow in some parts, but maybe that was needed to slow the pace down after the major action scenes. The creature animations were brilliant.

I hope that this movie will inspire audience members to read the epic poem. Beowulf was JRR Tolkien's other passion.

just came back from BeoWulf imax3D. i likewd the movie but i'll give a review of it later. Right now it's time for beddy bye bye.

Saw it in IMAX 3D. Other then the intese pain of going cross-eyed for two hours, it was visually amazing. I liked the movie a lot, too.

I thought it was decent my expectations were a tad bit too high for this film. I'd give it a 7/10 overall. If you classified this film in the way the poem was with acts 1,2 and 3. I'd say act 3 was the best and act 1 was a close second. The whole Grendel's mother sequence (aka act 2) was rather dull

Spoiler:
I mean it was about the only part without action and it was a wee bit drawn out. I mean the first act is a lot of action and yelling, adrenaline rushing stuff. We see Beowulf give his grand introduction, Grendel rip apart Danes and a some Thanes. And his trials against Breaker. All great stuff and then act two is like...okay. We pretty much see Grendel's mother weeping over her shrunken suns body. Beowulf walk around for a bit, Grendel's mother hide from him. Then she takes a few minutes to seduce him. Then they make the deal, he goes back and Hrothgar decides he wants to go ahead and die, so after a speech he jumps off the side of the castle and ends his life. I just felt there should've been more to it, than that. It was basically building up for the rest of the film. Also the movies ending sucked, I wasn't at all satisfied with it, I mean did he join her, or what? I had hoped he would've tossed in the horn and walked away but it just ended with them staring at each other.
As for the graphics, they were odd. The men were all incredibly done, except for one or two. There faces I could've sometimes easily mistook for a real persons especially in act 3. They were beautifully done. When Beowulf is dying on the beach next to his son, and the water is on his face, he looked like a real person. It was incredible. Same with Wigluf. But then there were the women, they weren't near as good as the men. There dresses and hair were terrific but then there were there their faces. They weren't like the men's. The men's had lines and wrinkles while the womens were almost manikin like. They never really had much but some freckles, it was almost like Feona from Shrek(in her human form obviously) except the hair and articles of clothing were a lot better. As for the horses I mean AH! They sucked. Horses do not move like that, they had them hopping almost it was hideous looking. They didn't even show their muscles or anything it was ridiculous and looked incredibly rushed. And Angelina at the end when she's in the water looked like crap.

Anyway that's what I think of this film. Most of the stuff was minor and didn't really ruin the movie. Oh and special note to people planning to see it, be ready for some ass. There's a lot of butts in this and they play hide the penis with beowulf for like 20 minutes. It got kinda ridiculous. But I still recommend it, just don't go in with really high hopes.

Also something else I had a question. The dragon was given a name in this movie. What was it? I didn't know a lot of the characters names so it's hard to find.

I thought BeoWulf was one of the top and most visually stunning films I've ever seen. And I've seen alot of 'em but i asked myself, would i have enjoyed this movie if it were live action? The answer i came up with is "na, i don't think so."

The 3d was good but it wasn't anything to die for. I still think CGI has a ways to go but it's definitely done well in some aspect in this movie. Especially with the faces, with Beowulf's looking the most realistic.

Beowulf CGI techs have shot the bar up graphically and have made the human face as realistically as naturally possible.

Now that skins have come close to looking near perfect, CGI techs should now work of mastering the fluidity of natural human movement. There's still that rubber chicken/plastic stiffness that needs work

After that, CGI the should fix the "uncanny valley" problem that come up with these human characters they create. Once CGI fixes these 2 problems, imo, CGI would be perfect. And it'll happen...sooner than we think.

I didn't know Crispin Glover played the role of Grendal. The guy who played George McFLy (Marty's father) in the "Back to the Future" films, also directed by Robert Zemekis. He did look like Glover with that nose and just the look.

Okay so i'm curious, what animated flick that has to limit their running time under 3 hours that will deserve your 10/10???

None. Actually looking back I'd probably give it an 8/10 instead of 7/10. But what I said in my review still stands. Those are the reasons why I can't give it a ten. The ending SUCKED. I can't have a movie end like Beowulf did, I was thoroughly disappointed by that. And some of the anmiation sucked. Mostly the women Angelina at the end, and the horses. Which looked rushed. I mean you see the dog early on and you can see every bit of fur on him, it looks great and the horses just outright sucked. Their movement was choppy and there was little detail. And I felt at some points it got draggy. Otherwise it was good.

Should've stayed true to the story... I wanted Beowulf to be over the top ass kicking.

Whos ready for BEOWULF!!!

It gunna rock!!! angolina is so hott!!!
