in fairness, linda carter did as much for diana as any comic series ever did... and even the comics themselves, even when they were good, still relied, even a little bit, on the fact that wonder woman is the biggest female hero, which even in itself isn't exactly huge given the lopsidedness of genders on teams...

I don't think the problem depicting the Greek Gods is unique to WW writers. I've seen some poor handling across the board. I am always interesting to see how each writer will tackle them. Athena walking around with a laptop was a bit much lol but I am enjoying a more 'modern' take on them. And I do like how Ares, Athena and Aphrodite have taken over.

lol, i grew up watching lina carter, i hadn't even read a wonder woman comic until i saw that show... it was the only reason i even bothered...
and yeah, i think the greek gods are just hard to work with as much as the writing not being up to scratch...

I think they are hard to work with in general. I think that's part of the reason we have seen them depicted on film so rarely. It's about time we had another Clash of the Titans type film made. I'd love to do the casting for that! hehe

And therein lies the problem. You think someone like BA destroys her and I strongly, strongly disagree. She's held her own against equal and superior foes. But I'm venturing in debate territory and on the subject of Diana that is fairly futile with you.
I obviously like the character but I'm always willing to concede when she is outmatched. But short of some like Surfer, I don't see her losing as often as you do.
