A lot of the so-called veterans of KMC actually dislike Darth Sidious. because he was clever enough to manipulate the Republic and the Jedi. They prefer the haphazard warlords and nutcases rather than the rational masterminds. Go figure.

I admired the comics because of the scale -- billions and billions of ships and so forth -- but they turned the Force into sheer Marvel Comic magic and special effects. The mysticism is gone; it's pure Harry Potter crap now. I was expecting the Emperor to pull out a wand and go "I have you now Potter!". Not to mention that Luke is kicking the everloving crap out of AT-ATs and heavy Imperial armament. And, after this? He loses all that power 'til NJO.

This line of thought is most inaccurate and uncompromisingly false. George Lucas doesn't have to someone to be "the most powerful" for a Sith Lord to be accepted as such. We can, for the most part, rank the major players of the Star Wars mythos based on narrative and feats. Emperor Palpatine has demonstrated abilities that are beyond the scope of the vast majority of Sith Lords; in Dark Empire it is revealed that the Emperor demonstrated a more controlled and stabilized form of Darth Nihilus's frantic, glutton-based Force drain. He's summoned Force Storms -- vast wormholes ripping through space/time that have devoured fleets. According to the New Essential Guide to Characters, Emperor Palpatine's 'mind-fogging powers' allowed an Executor-class Super Star Destroyer to be buried beneath the surface of Coruscant without anyone being the wiser. This is but a taste of his achievements, and he accomplished them all without the assistance of technological arcana -- unlike the Ancient Sith Lords.

He's directly stated by the New Essential Chronology to be the most powerful Sith Lord in history, and the Dark Empire sourcebook says that he "succeeded where all others have failed in taming the Dark Side."

Uh... no. Luke Skywalker confronts Emperor Palpatine twice in the Dark Empire comics. Both of which -- Palpatine is inhabiting a young clone body. Luke loses the first lightsaber duel, yet manages to overcome the Dark Lord in the second.

Meh, I didn't mind DE. I preferred it to DE II and EE.

I'm going to make sure that Lucas said that about the comics though....I'll check out SW.com....

First of all we know Lucas is thehighest form canon but if other soures such as the NEC states something like that it is still canon. By no means am I a fanboy of Luke Skywalker. I have said it MULTIPLE times on this site that Revan is my favorite character. And Luke is not even in my top 5. I don't even consider myself to be a luke skywalker expert. (which i have said on this very thread)

Why? The answer is simple it is because the expanded universe or the EU for short. The eu which includes comics,sourcebooks,books,and videogames (like kotor 2) is what is continuing star wars name today. And shows how luke's skills have evolved making extremely powerful.
Sidious was more powerful(as gideon said the most powerful sith ever which he was by ROTS) in this storyline due to his clone body which made him much more effective in saber combat. Not to mention his force storm he created.

i think darth vader is the best sith hands down,yes i like revan, sidious,dooku, but vader stil seems the coolest,(plus no other siths have james earl jones as their voice actor 🙂 )

Well 'memorable' is not easily defined. It depends on one persons perception of the quote. However that is irrelevant to who actually has the better voice - because it is not up to the actor to choose what they get to say.

james earl jones was not only in star wars, but in several other movies as well. what else has christopher lee been in, other than the crappy willy wonka remake and some dracula movie

Are you serious? James Earl Jones has nothing on Mr Lee's acting career - which spans nearly 6 decades. Some of his more notable performances are:

Francisco Scaramanga - James Bond The Man With The Golden Gun
Saruman the White - LotR Trilogy
Count Dooku - Star Wars II and III
Count Dracula - Numerous Dracula movies (8 If I remember correctly)
Mohammed Ali Jinnah - Jinnah
Sherlock Holmes - Numerous appearances

This is only 6 roles from the 257 films he has been in. So dont even begin to compare Jones to Lee - because it doesnt take a genius to see that Mr Lee will come out the victor.

ah thank you becuase i seroiusly didnt know that he was in those movies,but it isn't just the quanitity of the movies, but the quality. I just happen to like James Earl Jones and that is my opinioin. Think what you want about me, but I would still choose Jones over Lee

That was more or less the sith species and the first groups of dark jedi who intermingled with together forming the first sith empire. And Vader is a sith lord. And Sidious is one who named vader his apprentice as per the rule of two dictates. And the rest of the quote is that they are followers of an ideal. Sith afterwards follow the sith philosophy and use their power for evil and are trained in the ways of the sith. Which is something that dark jedi don't do.
