marvel's strength system may noot be wrong after all
everyone knows me as the guy that wanted spidey's strength to be upped and it has(he can press 20 tons now)...(also forgive the 'noot' expression in the title as it was too late for me to change it when i realised my error ;hope it cathces on a a new word)
but i thought i would share with you something rather fascinating , charecters like captain america ,spiderman ,thing who are stated to be at a certain level of strength but have been seen doing lifting greater than the amount assigned to thier name but truth may very well be that what theya re show lifting is within thier assigned strength levels.
marvel judges charecters by their ability to lift a sufficient weight above thier head(the press lift : http://www.chidlovski.net/liftup/l_press.asp) however i have come to find from experince and from around teh web and my brother who is becoming a pro-lifter that one can bench more than he can press lift , they can tricep dip more than they can press lift, and they can support even more with the assistance of their back and leg musclues, squats and whatnot etc perhaps this can help explains why they can lift oustide thier assigned levels (perhaps this explains why cap is able to bench 1100lbs comfortably whearas he can press 800lbs only which i believe no one in the real world has beaten)

hulk ? class 80? hundred ?
it was a 150 billion tons!
and he did not lift it anyways he was merly supporting a fraction of the weight.
i mean that form what i have said charecter like thing who are said to be able to press 90 tons he coudl very well bench say 150 tons etc
i can bench almost tiwce as much as i can press so im basing this logic on that , yes it's a comic book logic does not apply but it is a cool way to look at it

Ok explain Thor lifting Jormungandr, who weighed as much as the Earth, listed as class 100.

So let's say you can bench press 180 lbs. That would be the equivilant of me putting a 900 million ton oil tanker on your back. Can you support that?

firstly thor is not class 100 (colossu and thing are class 100, class 100 means able to press 90 - 100tons thjor is clearly above that ) he is excess of 100 tons , this could means a level that too high to measure with numbers like a 100tons , but assuming that thor could press lift a few billion tons the feat becomes easily possible as thor was also acting out of adrenaline and duress
also i don't think this system applie to any charecter who can lift in excvess of 100 tons , this applies to charecters who have had thier strength limits established below 100 tons in the handbooks
i.e spidey can press 20 tons, so assuming we saw him support around 50 tons on his back (whisch is reasonably possible) in a comic this would not make him a class 50 (able to press 25-50 tons ) he would still be a class 25(10-25tons)

In the picture you posted above, it clearly states "can lift between 90 and 100 tons" for class 100. You just contradicted yourself.

Because Colossus is Class 100 you stated, yet he can lift objects like this:

From the size in that picture, it looks as large as a submarine which weighs in the tens of thousands of tons.
