No I haven't read Forgotten Realms. But I don't read books for the action beats, since other mediums always do it better.

I disagree strongly that other media do it better. You simply havent read the right author. Try RA Salvatore, he perhaps the best at description of fight scenes.

Though I don't simply read them for fight scences and when I said lessers I ment as characters as a whole. Like Wulfgar for one is a good fighter but meh character, he has his moments. He more or less a replica of original mythology of Thor. Even has the Hammer which returns to his call.

R.A. Salvatore actually does a very good job at using words to describe events. Any action scenes in his books are vivid enough to picture in detail while you're reading.
