But if the revelation of Ocelot's father plays a part, it means Liquid only succeeded because of Ocelot's own abilities.

Liquid was able to take over Ocelots mind because not only did Ocelot have Liquid's arm, Ocelot inherited some of his father, The Sorrow's, medium powers.

There are various theories on how Liquid took over Ocelot.

It's simply not a spiritual connection from Liquid's soul through the arm.

Kinda proof: when you use the Mic on Ocelot right before Ames dies iN MGS2, you can hear 2 heartbeats.

Unless they meant it in a strictly metaphorical foreshadowing sense.

Also, Vamp has no heartbeat at all.

Like I said, there's several theories on how Liquid controls Ocelot. The arm is the key but how the arm takes him over is not confirmed.

My theory is still most likely.😄
