I don't believe in g-d. But that doesn't mean I'm going to be a lunatic.

There is order in the world without g-d. And also, people like myself, have morals, and rules, and personal feelings. I could never kill a person randomly.

😆 I like how you added the word "randomly". 😆

🙂 Yeah, but you know what I mean. Its human instinct to protect yourself in certain situations. If a person was hellbent on killing me, I'd do my best to make sure they wouldn't kill me. Either getting away, or having to resort to whatever may come..........you know 😉

I do understand, but I just found it funny. 😉

If. That's extremely doubtful anyways.

Stalin was a confirmed athiest and he's responsible for way more death than Hitler. His lack of belief in any god had a lot to do with his motivations.

What bullshit. I guess the Inquisition are atheists aswell.

I'm not denying that at all. Richard Dawkins said in The God Delusion "Atheists can be moral." Ok, fine, but where do these morals come from? Did Dawkins just pull his morals out of his ass "I think this is wrong. I didn't get this from any formulized rules, I just arbitrarily made this up. This is what I will live by"?
While I'm not a true atheist (agnostics ftw!), I think that morals come from your upbringing. I was raised Catholic, but I defected to agnosticism when I was 13-14. But doing this did not make me lose my morals.

Then maybe you should've used the word "unreasonably".

Anyone see the videos I posted 🙁

Oh my, well excuse me 😂

I still would like to know how Stalin is a “confirmed” Atheist, any historians out there want to answer that?

He was an atheist.

He did re-oen the churches, etc. during WWII when the Germans were marching on Stalingrad. One could justify that as him playing chess in an effort to win the war as opposed to him "seeing the light" and "running back to the Father".

I’ve done some searching and only found one quote from him saying there wasn’t a god but I’ve seen and read a few things saying that he was a spiritualist. I would figure that I would see more information about him being an Atheist or more quotes about him not believing in god. Just my two cents worth.

Maybe he didn't want to admit he was an Atheist as much as others so people would follow him?

LOL, a lot more people died in the name of God then by athiests.

i'm agnostic, but i call myself athiest cuz dumb asses in the world don't know what agnostic means. they're like, oh agnostic, u'r athiest?

neways, i've never gone to church, and neither have my parents, but i've grown up wit all the right morals. don't kill, stealing's bad, work hard so u deserve it etc etc.

It would be more accurate as:

"A lot more people died in the name of religion then in the name of Atheism"

Because while Atheists and people who may be Atheists have killed, they haven't done so for Atheism, but for other things while being Atheist.

Long story short; atheism is incidental rather than fundamental, to the atrocities committed by certain historical figures.

Stalin was actually educated in a Russian Orthodox Seminary for several years...

You could say the same thing about religon people just use it as an excuse. Im pretty sure some of those so called priests dont even belive in Christanity they just become priests because of "benefits".

Of course that still doesn't change the situation of there being far more cases of people saying "I have a religious mission to "whatever"" be it Crusades or planes in buildings etc compared to people saying "I have an Atheist mission to "whatever"".

People who bring up Stalin and say "well, he was an Atheist and look what he did" never can show what he did was somehow Atheistically motivated and not for reasons such as the politics of tyranny.

So? If religon didnt exist they would find something else to kill people for.

Well this is the way I see it. Atheism can be a religon but it depends. A religon is a belief system.....now if you belive that there is no god and there are other beliefs and practices that stem from it then atheism is a religon for example....you dont belive in god therefore there is no...afterlife....no supernatural.....as long as I dont get caught I can do whatever I like. It could be argued that the as long as I dont get caught attitude is very dangerous. I dont know if thats what Stalin thought but im pretty sure there are alot of athiests that belive that but thats because I think most humans are basterds.
