I know for a fact Traya's quote did not mean he had no understanding of the Sith ideals, has he embraced the ideas of the Sith more than her, which is a reason he struck her down. Being a brute that knows nuthin but violence and anger does indeed make you stupid. He had already usurped Kreia before the beginning of the game, he's a dumbass for not realising she would never have him as an apprentice again because of his betrayal and stupidity. It has a bearing in this match cause he has no real knowledge of the Force, and has no real terchnique.

All Sith know near nothing about violence and anger. They feed on it and it makes them stronger. And Sith Masters actually want there Padawans to usurp them. Darth Bane, for example, tried to get a girl to be his apprentice multiple times after the fact that she tried to kill him several times, twice with poison.

She said to him,"Of pain he has learned much, but of knowledge, of teachings, he knows nothing". So he basically has no real knowledge and he has learned nothing from her teachings, which basically means he has little skill with wielding the Force. No, Palpatine can control it, whereas Sion's mentality is only "Kill the Jedi! PHWOAAAARRRGHHH!" He rushes into conflict without thinking, like the cutscene that was scrapped due to time constraints when he rushes the obviously more powerful Nihilus. Traya is not your typical Sith Master dude, she did not practice the idealologies of the Sith and by her own statement,"Sith is my label, but it does not define who I am". Also, that whole wanting apprentices to kill them thing started with Bane, who made the Rule of Two. He lacks knowledge of the Force because of the Traya quote as evidence and the fact he has a very limited Force disposal.
