The entire time, my sisters were saying all the lines as if they had the script with them. The Were Wolves are actually wolves that are big; there is nothing hybrid-looking about them. The love story or whatever is stupid and dull. The vampires have unique power that I think are interesting, but other then that, it seems retarded. Vampires are like diamond? Lol, it's rather dumb.

you're just not in the audience these movies are aimed towards.

also, according to a girl i work with, they aren't werewolves. they're shapeshifters that can only change in to wolves, or something.

It's not that, it's just a confusingly huge franchise.

Kelly_Bean recently said "Love/romance and vampires is what women want.". Now, generalisations aside, she's obviously onto something. It taps into so many conditioned, hollow traits and characterisations that women are inarguable suckers for.

What puzzles me is that there have been a billion franchises that do that and do it better, yet none of them broke records.

Twilight's success is inexplicable. I guess it just happened, it's just one of those things.

Another thing that puzzles me is its ability to spellbind even the most reasonably smart, intelligent people. I know a girl who has pretty much never once made a taste-based choice I disagree with (Maybe likes things I'm indifferent to, but wouldn't say are bad), yet...she is a sucker for Twilight.

These women who are in their middle-ages and should know way, way better...they're obsessed over it. You know? These women who call themselves Twilight Mums and lust over these under-aged dudes, it's disgraceful. It's disgraceful they even act that way and also because if men did, there'd be riots.

I've nothing against the people in it besides the fact that they're all talentless (Besides maybe Kristen Stewart who seems like she MIGHT have potential SOMEWHERE. I base this on her being tolerable in that Jon Favreau movie). They're doing a gig, it's their job, and half of them seem like they hate what they got themselves into, despite the payday it's earned them.

I don't even have anything against the young girls liking it, because it's aimed at them. It's just madly confusing how successful it's become and why it has such a spellbinding hold over such rational females.

That and, as bad as I may seem for saying this, I have an instant grimace whenever I hear of men liking Twilight. Feel free to and all that, I just think...it's extremely odd. If you're not using it to get laid and you legitimately dig it, I instantly question.

I'm not some manly "Let's all watch Rambo and drink beer." kind of guy, so don't think it's that. I just...don't see what's in Twilight that any man who isn't gay would like.

the movie was just not a good idea. even with the stellar cast, it fails on so many levels because the essence of twilight is impossible to catch in the medium.

What stellar cast?

What's stellar about Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Launter? One hasn't done anything of note, one was famous for dying in Harry Potter and one is famous for being in one of the worst movies of all time.

Which other performances were these people great in? I can't recall one.

Taylor is a poor actor, he's whiny. He was whiny in Sharkboy and Lava Girl; he's still a whiner now.

Feel free to list their performances that would cause you to call the CAST, stellar.

Got a five-year-old daughter, you know how it is.

Does she know your arch nemesis RJ?

No, I keep her far away from creepy old men.

I do. I'm laughing at you just to pretend like I didn't have to watch it with my 3-year-old son. (He was 3 at the time.)

Pretending to be high and mighty is fun.

WTF? The Underworld Werewolves were much better looking than any werewolves out there,....cept maybe the new wolfman movie (at times).

✅ Especially Lucian.

No werewolves out look as good as the ones in Dog Soldiers.

To echo what someone said, someone I know also confirmed that they're not werewolves in Twilight.

Nah. Those looked borderline retarded.

Technically, they are werewolves. It's merely word semantics to pick and choose which definition to apply. The argument that SharkBoy is not a werewolf is really absurdly stupid.

Yeah, and the ones in Underworld looked fully retarded. I'll take borderline.

Also, no, it's not merely semantics. It's merely Stephanie Meyer stating that they AREN'T werewolves in the fourth book.

She created the characters, she gets the say. You don't. I know you'd love to find a way to worm out of this, but you cannot. Her characters, her say.

-AC

This is true, read somewhere that she has werewolves in one of her books and that she specified the group of wolf-boys in Moonlight are what she defines as shape-shifters.

But by the definition of the word, they're werewolves, humans that turn into wolves or take on the characteristics of wolves. Check and check, Myer's is just a retard.

I just youtube'd a clip from Dog Soldiers. Yeah, lame.

These werewolves:

VERY cool.

I'll stick with "more reasonable looking" while you stick with fully retarded. In the mean time, we just have to look at the score-board.

She can say that all she wants, but that doesn't make her right in the real world. 😬

I do. She can say what she wants and that only holds true in her fictional universe. Outside her fictional world, reality hits like a mack truck. He's a werewolf.

So what did we learn here?

1. You have a hard time separating fiction from reality.
2. You're relying on the word of a girl friend for European lore that goes back ages.
3. Your girl friend is getting her information from a damn fictional book.

Here's what you did:

Person 1: I read Harry Potter and blood PH is always ranges acidic or neutral.
Person 2: No it's not. It has a broader range and is mostly basic.
Person 1: Nuh uh! It's says so in Harry Potter and it only counts in Harry potter. Nothing real world counts.
Person 2: facepalm

Ms. Meyer can say that green is purple and purple is green. Once you get to the real world, you call shit what it is.

Sharkboy is the very definition of the old school werewolf.

This is not debatable. I won't post on this again.

It's exceptionally amusing to see two of KMC's supposedly more intelligent posters arguing about Twilight.
