Well apparently stormfront put forth the argumnt that since she did it to Unus(who's shield blocks TP and is skintight) she could do it to GL who's shield, ironically enough, blocks TP and is......well.......skintight😬

gl's shield isn't just skintight (in the conventional way), the ring is a highly advanced AI that regulates the shield to protect the user from any atmospheric anomalies...
storm's powers are psionic in nature, his shield is capable of blocking psionic signals...
just because she did it to unus doesnt mean she can to GL...
