how does thor fly?

he swings his hammer in an arc and then lets its momentum pull him. therefore he has to will the hammer to stop and reswing it in a new direction to fly another way.

do you know anything about Thor?

read my post above for how thor navigates mjolnir.

combat speed and travel speed are 2 different things

travel speed wise thor is almost as fast as sups

combat speed wise he's slower and less nimble

He swings Mjolnir at light speeds and releases it. The enchantment than takes over and continues the forward movement.

What relevance does this have to your previous assessment that Thor can't change directions while flying?

Nope.

he does no such thing as his arms are incapable of moving at light speed.

he swings his hammer in his regular swing speed, and after it gets momentum, the enchantment can increase the speed of its travel
