Pretty sure you can't get prosecuted for manslaughter by legally selling weapons.

Im not sure about that because as far as I know when people buy weapons they have to do a check eg criminal record, mental ilness etc. You are not supposed to sell arms to certain people.

Even if you cant get prosecuted for selling arms its the principle of the thing you can go to jail selling something to somebody knowing full well they could hurt others with it.

I get it, your point isnt a good one.

Again thats very niave. You dont focus on the past a 100 percent but if you look at the past it helps you understand why things are the way they are today. If your going to use that argument I could say that if somebody beats you up and cripples you that they shouldnt pay damages because its in the past...get it? You dont have a point.

No. His point is similar to my point. If your great great great grandfather beat up my great great great grandfather and it caused him to not be able to work and that caused his direct family to be poor and then the subsequent children fell for get rich quick schemes which caused me to be born into a poor family that barely survives...it is not your great great great grandfather's fault...it is my family's fault for being idiots and it would be my responsibility to make things better for myself and MY posterity.

His example is much much better because it is many more generations than just 4.

Don't know the specifics. What was he charged for and what did he exactly do?

As I said I dont think YOU should pay for anything but those people who are benefiting from corruption should. That might be the case but that doesnt change the fact that there is still stuff going on now that shouldnt happen.

That doesnt change the fact that one of the reasons why the third world is in debt is due to colonisation and that something should be done about it by both Africa and the West.

Well yeah, because it's him who did it. We don't **** them over now so we should do nothing.

Your arguments are the same as those from reperations towards Black people in America. I suggest you watch Penn and Teller: Bullshit.

Wait. Are you saying that Europe is responsible for Africa being a predominantly 3rd world continent?

A hell of a lot of the issues in Africa come from African dictators. What does Europe have to do with that?

Europe had a lot to do with it. European colonization is the reason most of Africa is a wartorn shithole. They (Europeans) went, drew arbitrary lines they called colonies which put tribes together who don't belong together, they up and left after a while, and now warlordism is rampant.

One thing I don't understand though, is why can't Africa learn lessons from other former colonies. India has a billion people, which is more than the entire continent of Africa and was a colony for over 200 years, yet they're united into one country that happens to be the world's largest liberal democracy.

Yes, and I heard of him, I've seen Bowling for Columbine. But I question the accuracy of comparing him to my statement. So, what was he charged with and what did they claim he did?

Okay, look, the point is to get the person that drew the comparison to ****ing state the facts so I can point out how it doesn't relate.

Why, oh why, does no one know simple dirty debating tactics?

I've been watching KMC GDF for sometime. I have been truly impressed by the high level debating that goes on here. So many truly intelligent people. I think you should put these skills to good use. I truly believe the great minds here capable of solving world issues (at least online). Let's start with the African AIDs pandemic. Please put your minds to this. How can we solve it?

It is called AIDS, not plural AID as you keep on implying.

That means its acquired immune deficiency syndrome, not acquired immune defficiencies.

I'd say, don't even try and explain HIV to him and the phases which lead to AIDS, but he was just trolling for a reaction with that initial post.

Yeah you're right. Banned as well I see.
