I'm a USC fan, it would be easy to blame our D for giving up that play. But like many other USC fans, we know why we lost that game. It all goes back to Booty's poor play. But I guess it's easier for an outsider, who didn't watch the game, and only seen highlights, to blame USC's defense. Fact of the matter is, that is straight bull shit. I'm not going to be commenting on a game I didn't see, thinking I know what I'm talking about, especially when your talking to a person who seen the entire game and had to sit through interception after interception, bail out after bail out, overthrow after overthrow, then to have to sit through one more interception, but without the bail out following. I can't blame them for not bailing us out that last time. We basically asked for a lost, and we got it.

But you wont see that tragedy again this season as long as Booty keeps his stanky ass on the bench and Sanchez is our QB. Then maybe our defense will have enough left in the tank to make that play at the end of the game.

the point was "the best d in the nation" would overcome the INT's and save the game on 4th and 20 and then 4th and goal. Just like Leinart saved the game on 4th down in ND in the past because he was part of the best OFFENSE and he had to compensate for his D's lack of ability.

Looks like LSU's defense couldn't step up when it mattered and make the plays. Their defense got completely dominated by Kentucky, something that hasn't happened to our defense since 05. Best D in nation my ass. Trojans hold that title.

Maybe in the title game when they actually play someone good, but that will be too late, someone else deserving would have already missed out. And their last 5 games have been far from easy? Are you kidding me? Purdue, Northwestern, Minnesota, Kent State, Washington. Now you tell me how beating those teams constitutes being ranked #1?

My high school football team is named the Trojans and ranked #6 in the state. That must be that big Trojan D you're referring to.

For USC, this is the big chance for their D to actually hold a team under 10 points this season, which consequentially means that they might actually win a game by more than 3 points for a change. (Correction: They actually annihilated 2-5 Arizona by seven points last week). Notre Dame is next on the plate, and anything more than zero offensive touchdowns allowed may reek of fraud.

Maybe Kentucky will play USC in the Weed Wacker Bowl and hang a 50-spot on that #1 D.

I know it's going to be hard, but try not to use Reggie Bush or John David Booty in your comeback.

USC isn't doing to well this year, they've dropped and dropped from week 3.

#2 USF loses to Rutgers, many people predicted this to happen as well. That is 3 straight weeks the #2 ranked team has lost. USC, Cal and now USF.

Okay, but I didn't say LSU's was the best. I'm saying USC's isn't the best. If they were the best, there would be a lot more points created by the defense, and I don't mean directly. You know, fumbles on sacks, big INT returns, stuffing the other team at the goal line to create field position, and the like. Like the Baltimore Ravens, who would score about 0 points per game if it weren't for their defense, who creates situations that put them in great position to score TD's or kick field goals (mostly kick field goals).

I'll admit I've only seen 2 of USC's games, but in those 2 games I didn't see anything particularly scary about the defense. Good, but not scary.

Yeah that is the one problem with this D, they don't cause too many turnovers. Pete Carroll has been trying to address that issue, but it's mainly because we haven't been able to get pressure on the QB enough to cause those turnovers. It is becoming a bigger issue since our offense is bad and we need to get them better field position. Our average field position sucked last game because the Arizona kicker was so good.....he had an 83 yard punt!!!! Not to mention he pinned us within our own 10 a few times.

John David Booty should never start another game for the Trojans again. As a matter of fact, he shouldn't even get garbage time minutes. Sanchez was completely money today and you can tell that our receivers fed off his energy and his ability.

235 yards and 4 TD's and more importantly, NO INTERCEPTIONS!

Bummer Cal lost though, their losses are hurting our strength of schedule should we run the table. At least Arizona State and Oregon are still in the top 10 and as long as we keep playing like we did today and top 10 teams keep losing, we might find ourselves right back in title game contention.

Pac-10 teams keep beating up on each other, USC loses to Stanford, Oregon loses to Cal, Cal loses to Oregon State, Cal loses to UCLA, and pretty soon it's going to be Cal loses to USC, Oregon loses to USC, Oregon State loses to USC, Arizona State loses to USC, UCLA loses to USC....as long as Sanchez remains our starter.

Add South Carolina, Kentucky and Cal to the top 10 teams to lose this week, Cal is already on that list and ranked #10 in the AP poll, but they just found a way to do it again before they play USC. LSU is also on that list, and may lose tonight to Auburn(they are currently losing by 10 in the second half).

IF LSU loses, they should fall past us, I wouldn't like the fact of 2 two loss teams ahead of us(Auburn would most definitely shoot past us). I don't care who there opponents are, two loses are 2 losses. If they remain in the top 10 after yet another loss, it's BS.

All the pretenders are being knocked off, and room is being made for the real #1 and #2 teams. I just wish we had Sanchez in to start the season instead of the joke who didn't inform the coaches that he had broken his finger...then proceeded to throw 4 interceptions and cost us the game and possibly ruined our title dreams. F*** you Booty. I hope you don't return to USC, enter the draft, get invited to NY then don't get drafted at all. A lot of USC fans(including me) are pissed that he would not tell the coaches about such an injury. What an ass.

just curious. If you knew you had a very capable backup who given a chance to play could steal your job and your future and you had a minor injury that you thought you could play through. Would you tell the coaches and risk giving your backup that opportunity? Sure its selfish but would you?

I am also ok with the idea of a 2 loss team being ahead of a 1 loss team if their schedule merits it.
