out of that One single Universe.
That right there makes every story between COIE to Now involving multiple Universes,
null & void.
................................................................................................................
But more specifically:
We learn that it was both Spectre and AM together,
that shattered the remaining COIE Multiverse,
not just Spectre attacking AM with a Multiverse destroying/creation blast,
as originally depicted.
(although the Multiverse had been already greatly reduced by the AM before this happened.)
................................................................................................................
No mention of Mxy at all, or his "World's Funnest" escapade.
In fact, Mxy erase a Multiverse that didn't even exist during World's Funnest.
DC, all of DC, was just One single Universe during World's Funnest.
Someone said,
that perhaps Mxy travelled back in Time
to the point where COIE still existed.
But that can't be,
because Rip Hunter and Booster Gold travelled as far back in Time as possible,
and guess where Time itself ended, or should I say Began?
With Alex inadvertently creating the 52 Universes from New Earth (One single Universe)
................................................................................................................
Parallax is credited with erasing this One single Universe, one single Timeline.
Unlike in Zero Hour where they have him inadvertently
making Realities seep in and out of existence. (Realities that didn't exist)
................................................................................................................
Waverider (supposedly the keeper of Hypertime) is mentioned,
but not a single word about "Hypertime"
In fact, Waverider who was considered a "god" by some,
we're told was killed by Booster Gold's robot guide (Skeets)
................................................................................................................
No mention of divine figures at all (I have no idea where DC stands with this)
The Source Wall is about the only thing considered Omnipotent in this Historical guide,
but even the Source Wall is vulnerable,
as it is clearly in danger of being collapsed
and becoming non-existent aswell,
if beings continue to travel between the 52 Universes.

I don't know why everyone finds it so hard to get around Hypertime ? Its basically works in the same way as the many worlds predicted by Quantum theory. i.e. every two way decision for a subatomic particle creates two new universes, consequently leading to a potential infinite number of universes. The COIE, and the current 52 universes work in the same way as the string theory multiiverse, where 3Dimensional membranes (i.e. our universe) float in 11 Dimensional space. Hypertime was a crazy notion introduced by Grant Morisson to allow for Elsewhere story lines, its been made very clear that although it may still exist Dan Didio doesn't intend to use it again.

He's 'died' 3 or 4 times previously. Also, that story -- 52, takes place after "New Earth" was merged, meaning it's still part of the current vision of reality.

Thanx 🙂

The COIE leaving DC Multiverse with the DCUniverse, is the way it was always intended, however there's nothing to say those other stories didn't exist.
You're taking it far too literal, especially given the fact nothing they're saying is new, it's in fact many of the very stories that have actual taken place since the 40s-50's until now. You can't be expected to cover 50 years in a handful of pages, and not have things get left out.
I'm only conveying what they're sayin Jun.
I went to the DC website,
and there visitors are directed to 52 and Countdown
if you want to know about the current DC Universe.
I did that, that's what I posted, and that's that.

Zero Hour was another multiple reality clean-up story like Crisis on Infinite Earths. Its considered somewhat of a follow up story, to finish cleaning up the DCU of other realities and timelines.
I'm sure,
but in Countdown they were specifically refering to the one Universe,
that survived COIE.

Them saying "Universe" in this fasion, is no more or less different than every time Thanos is mentioned as "Universe" with the Infinity Gauntlet.
I'll disagree with this. It wasn't a question of terms. They were talking in specifics.
If one reads the issues, (or visit page 1)
the Timeline that's followed in that History lesson,
directly interacts the Parallax story with the One single Universe
they were talking about since COIE.

It's just a rough overview.
I don't agree that any sort of retcons have taken place yet.
It doesn't seem changed to me.
The eye of the beholder is fee to decide.
Originally posted by Mr MasterLike I said, Waverider was called the seer of Hypertime by Skeets/MrMind during 52, making those stories still part of the current vision of reality since it's after New-Earth was merged and began to replicate. It fully acknowledges its existance in this fashion.

I guess that team of guys from different universes and timelines that were there to battle Parallax at the end of Zero Hour didn't actually do that either. The very purpose of Zero Hour was to clean up other universes and timelines, because since COIE, they had already begun telling other universe/timeline stories. After Zero Hour, they picked it up and started again.
If DC was only one universe--- What is Qward?
Do you really think the overviews lack of mention actually rams out the last 20+ years of Green Lantern history, since Qward is so intrinsically tied to it?

The whole idea of "the rebirth of the multiverse" is ridiculous. There was more than one universe in DC before IC and 52.

I didn't write the stuff dogs, 🙂 I feel you,
but I'm just posting what they published and trying to figure out the contradictions.
I'm laughing cause of this:
............................................................................
(this is from the last page of Countdown #51, the Writers addressing the public)
"52 Universes making up the New Multiverse ...
there is no stopping the constant evolution of the DC Universe.
With Countdown, we're entering our greatest phase of change.
Head Writer Paul Dani
will take you to every corner of the DC Universe and Multiverse.
Countdown will act as the spine of the DCU
with every major event and nearly every character,
(The Writers) "will have fans talking (and arguing) for Years to come"
They knew this would open up a whole new can of worms.
Originally posted by Mr MasterSure, but it's not specifically speaking of the backup feature imo, but the story itself. Pretty much every title right now ties into Countdowns overall story, and we know Countdown is leading the charge into the next Crisis. That's how it's the spine of the DCU/M.

I do admit, the fans arguing for years to come is funny though. They know the uproar changes in the status quo cause. Many fans aren't happy with the new "52" at all, as opposed to the simplicity of having their stories told from primarily a single universe. Now we have characters running around in dimensions and time, and all sorts of mess.
Me personally I like it, but a guy I work with, hates it. He hates the space/time/reality/multiversal stuff. Saying it's too confusing.

"They" have no say in that.
Many cats have complimented me on how I indulge in Marvel Cosmic related info.
This indulgence naturally leads to knowledge concerning that specific area (Cosmics)
Hence, cats (respected members) have said "name speaks for itself" (Mr M)
and other cool comps in those "Rate the Debater" type threads. (several of them)
I'm not special, there are "experts" in all categories in kmc,
anyone of them can be called "Master" at whatever their specialty is,
(Wolverine, JLA, Heralds, Divinity/DC Cosmics, Spiderman, whatever)
But if you must know:
The name "Mr Master" is Not being used in the context of a self-proclaimed status,
or a level of understanding that coincides with the definition of "Master."
The name comes from what I am to be called in real life, "Maestro" in spanish.
Pronounce "Maetro" ... not technically but my peoples always act as though the "S" is silent.
I wanted it in english here,
but the term "Master" was unavailable (taken) at this database,
so I had to choose something else that flows with my name.
"Mr?"
Whatever, that'll work ... "Mr Master" 🙂
Bottomline:
I don't know why you coming out your face,
because someone else acknowledged my effort, (that's like Envy dude)
if not, you may have a chip on your shoulder,
PM me about it and we'll discuss it.
If not, PM a Mod and give him your complaint.
But Never, Never,
Hate on a cat cause he gets a compliment from another member.
That's a big time no, no around here.
