It would be more logical to kill and then have sex with somebody you lust after then somebody who is but ugly. Unless he wanted to use sex as a form of punishment. But it would have been more logical to keep her alive if he wanted to punish her, so he likely lusted after her.
Meaning that she was likely good looking.
