So am I to believe that an internet forum now carries more weight than an actual comic book scan from a comic that you and I both agree is canon.

Beyonder's power before the retcon was a bit dim, they wanted to make him seem all powerful, but like the bible, you cannot make an appearance without in one way limiting your character.
So to answer your question, he was supose to be God, but for the sake of an interesting story he was limited.
I think they explained it in the way of, he writes the story of Marvel, and make himself forget so he can learn from mistakes and alike.
He also limited his power in ways, I think that was stated as well.

But as you can see here, he is the ones writing the book of destiny and give the illusion of free will to the people.

And here if another thing, he cannot be defeated unless he allows it.

Your whole post stinks of rediculousness. First of all, Micheal exist in both wrealms. As does The spectre. Vertigo does exist. It isn't some made up wrealm. Mxy has visited there. You fail. ANd the blast never said it was multiversal only. FAIL yet again. The blast was a creation blast and lucifer fashioned what he thought was something that mirrored his father's creation. he didn't find out later that his father had an infinite sea of multiverses. SO Michael sustains ALL of the Yaweh's creation. Which would include his infinite mutiverses and other wrealms. Which means the blast was more than just a multiversal blast. Game, set, and match.
