DOS: DD was doing more damage than supes... supes got very, very lucky...

H/P: Supes, again, got lucky... he even had help... in combat, Supes had no chance...

Doomsday Wars: Same again...

Just because Superman eventually won doesnt mean he wasnt consistently outclassed almost every time they've met...

You left out "Wrath of GOG" where Doomsday outlasted Clark against an army of skyfather level Gog's.

it was a tie.

it wasn't really a tie considering DD had to fight the justice league, and the military, etc

its all about wins and losses. u act as if hes lucky all the time. no its just supes knows how to churn out a tough win.

in H/P he had help, big time... thats not churning out a win, thats cheating...

supes was fighting them first though... 😬

grandmaster is comparable to metron in my book.

Metron's still way more awesome. And probably smarter.

It was Metron who discovered how to pierce the Omniversal barriers tween the two wrealms.

But Doomsday fought them for 100 years straight. Superman fought them for a bit after fighting somebody else first sure but still 100 years is pretty impressive.

I don't quite understand the significance of that?

Doomsday fought them straight for a much much longer amount of time...and ended up saving Clarks life as a matter of fact.

I'm wondering how they are comparable..one is a compulsive gambler and the other is a seeker of knowledge.

when clark was fighting them, he was infected (or had very recently been) by liquid kryptonite... he had aged a fair bit, and had even had what resembled a heart attack shortly before the attack...

i just don't think its fair to compare the two at that point...

Supes get credit for doing what he did under the influence.

Still, fighting them for over a hundred years and winning is the more impressive feat on Doomsdays behalf.

After all, GOG did manage to kill Clark, but not DD.

granted, but dd did have an army with him... supes was alone, severely weakened, and he still managed to hold out for a short while against an enemy that had taken out most of the league...

i'm not saying DD didnt do well, because he did, just that saying that it was a good feat because superman couldnt do the same is unfair, if thats what you're saying, i mean...

supes and dd made a hell of a team tho...

Like in OWAW where they were both massacring their way through dozens of Imperiex Probes. 🙂

you know i've only ever read that once?

i'll have to see if i can get my hands on a copy...

I'm not taking anything away from Superman because of everything that happened. It's also impressive he was alive for a hundred years after being injected with K-nite, and being away from the sun. Still even if DD had an army he was still fighting for a hundred years straight which is just what is impressive.

oh, of course, i wouldnt take that away from him... fighting for that long requires an insane amount of stamina/power/ability...

though did superman not go off to dc's asgard and fight for many years?

Pretty impressive too, considering one Imperiex Probe made Kyle, Wally, J'onn, Plastic Man, Wonder Woman, and Arthur all look like amateurs.

The more we get into this..the more I remember what an awesome book that was.
Superman had help in that book, from DD. Gog had also beat most of the JLA.

DD and Supes did make an awesome team though.

Superman fought alongside WW and Thor for 1000 years.

I ain't taking away from Superman and yea I know he fought in Asgard for a thousand years which is extremely impressive. Aren't the Asgardians powerful and then there was Wonder Woman also helping him.. It never really says who is in Doomsday's army. Course somebody else may know I didn't recognize any of the people it showed fighting the Gog's along with him though.

I'm just saying it's impressive though not that Superman couldn't have done it if he was full powered. Though I do wonder if Gog could have hurt Superman if he was full power.

it was a great book, even if austen's dialogue was so-so in places...

supes was alone for the start of the fight though, although i dont know how long it was before DD turned up... even if it was minutes, supes was in the thick of it...

thought so... i've never read it, only heard about it... 🙁

it was a league of powered people all fighting in superman's name... no idea who any of them were, but if they were able to back dd up for at least a portion of those years, then they'll have done alright imo...

he did originally stab him with the kryptonite staff, though i'm not sure whether a non K staff would do the same...
