No absolutes?

can you define absolute?

• perfect or complete or pure; "absolute loyalty"; "absolute silence"; "absolute truth"; "absolute alcohol"

• complete and without restriction or qualification; sometimes used informally as intensifiers; "absolute freedom"; "an absolute dimwit"; "a downright lie"; "out-and-out mayhem"; "an out-and-out lie"; "a rank outsider"; "many right-down vices"; "got the job through sheer persistence"; "sheer ...

• not limited by law; "an absolute monarch"

• expressing finality with no implication of possible change; "an absolute guarantee to respect the nation's authority"; "inability to make a conclusive refusal"

• without conditions or limitations; "a total ban"

• something that is conceived to be absolute; something that does not depends on anything else and is beyond human control; "no mortal being can influence the absolute"

• not capable of being violated or infringed; "infrangible human rights"

I believe there is an absolute truth or reality, but it is beyond the understanding of humans.

Absolute reality is ineffable, IMO. The best we have are descriptions which are not absolute.

Maybe there isn't an Absolute, but we think there is.

the physical world disreguarding sentiences is CONTENT. i beleive it is very probable that there can be an ultimate CONTENT. but without CONTEXT{our qualia/interpretive mind which makes sense of the content} given by our mind, content is without meaning or purpose and may as well not exist. now the problem is that our CONTEXT/qualia/homunculus is always subjective and unique to us. so that even the most accurate PORTRAYEL of an ultimate CONTENT would still be ONE PORTRAYEL and not the CONTENT itself, which is different from PORTRAYEL. for instance, the image is different from the object. or the map is different from the actual land.

therefore we are unable to see any ultimate reality. assuming what i said is accurate ofcourse.

God's Word/Law/Will is absolute and intelligible.

Sometimes I agree with you, but not for the reasons you think.

Words games are fun.

Its like talking about nothingness. Before you can talk about it, you have to make it into something. No absolutes is the same way. By saying No Absolutes you have created an absolute. 😆

I'm not the one who said that there are no absolutes.

I believe in absolutes.

Moral-relativists are the ones who came up with this contradiction, this paradox.

No, words do it. The word absolute is an abstraction.
