Your know something, now that I think about. Why hasn't Superman killed someone in his sleep. Imagine having a bad dream (like all of us have) and you kick or punch on reflex. Theres no control.
I imagine it's the same reason he doesn't rip lois in half when they sleep together, or the reason blackbolt doesn't snore.
Insane levels of control via lifelong practice.
Practice and control you WOULDN'T have, hence the problem I noted with the super senses.
Re: Which of Superman's powers would you choose?
Originally posted by masterbruceFor me, it would be a choice between 1 & 2. I mean with superstrength it would be so cool to lift a car or more with one hand. With flight it would be great to fly to work and not waste gas money.
His powers come in 3 packages, which would you choose and why?1. Superstrength, super stamina and invulnerability
2. Superspeed and flight (and ability to breathe in outerspace)
3. Super senses and super intelligence, heat vision, and freeze breath
You would NEED invulnerability with number two if we are assuming that you can breath in space because of all ther other factors for which a normal human would die without a space suit.
Man I would want that heat vision and freeze breath, but the super senses would kills me unless I had actual control over them.
Number 2 I guess. Much more practical for fights (superspeed punches are cooler than a super strength punch where you accidently kill the person...if you actually get into a fight), and of course transportation. Plus its just freaking cool to fly, I could finally get over my fear of heights...it all stems from having no control at certain heights.

"for the sake of this hypothetical situation, you are unaffected when using those powers (ie you can blast heat vision without melting your own face, and you can fly super fast without being killed)"

I'm not talking about speed though. I'm talking about chilling space like the pressure isn't going to make you pop. So therefore you would need invulnerability even in a state of "rest." See the difference?

Yup, I was responding to the supersenses problem and didn't really read the first bit.

1.With Super Strength, you pretty much get super speed as well. If my legs are strong enough to kick a tank across New York, I imagine wouldn't be a problem to run 200+ miles an hour.
...and not to mention being able to jump practically anywhere within a 50 mile radius you wanted.
1 it is!
Originally posted by MightyEInherjarTrue but theres no control like in flight. Your only chance to jump would be in a farm area, unless your planning on causing a shitload of property damage.
