So you're the security in an hotel? Do you get to use the facilities?

no, I am a night auditor, pretty much the same as an assistant manager.

yes I did, but there was no way to be certain. If I had called this HOOKER while she was giving someone in my hotel a knob polish and asked her if she had lost 20 bucks, she would say yes, EVEN IF it was not hers. There was no way I could have returned it anyway, because I never saw her again.
What has her occupation to do with anything.

I'd take a hooker over a common thief like you any day.

Also, you adjust your story more and more. It wont help though, it's not your money, you stole it, and everyone tells you so.

What does "possession is 9/10 of the law" even mean? To you?

And there were people that said they'd keep it. But there are also people that say murdering other people is fun. Your crowd 🙂

comparing keeping 20 bucks to murder. 😆 Is this your new line of attack? 😆 Man, thats just funny as hell. Sure, I think murder is fun, you totally caught me. I am the Zodiac killer.

If, while at work, you see a crumpled twenty on the ground, and you KNOW who dropped it, but there is no one around, do you keep it?
Depends if it's a nice person or not.

with the exception of a stick of gum or two as a lad, and the terrible crime against humanity I recently committed, I have never stolen anything in my life. You think I should turn myself in to the feds?

Gum, money and music, but that's besides the point. I'm not saying you should be put on death row, I just think theft sucks, it's an extremely shitty thing to do.

That said, I don't get the logic of; "Besides this, this and this, I've never stolen.".

That's like saying "Besides those two chicks I raped, I've never hurt anyone.". Contradicts itself.

you guys were making me out as some kind of common criminal, I only said that as a reference to my past.

I still dont take it as stealing.

It doesn't matter what you take it as. By law, it's stealing. If someone looks over your shoulder while you are withdrawing money from the bank and writes your card number, that's stealing information. It does not need to be a tangible item.

By law, it's stealing, fact. Taking property that does not belong to you without permission.

Like it or not, enjoy it or not, it is stealing. You cannot say it isn't just because you don't like the idea of being a thief. If you're big enough to steal, be big enough to admit it. Otherwise you're just ignoring fact, which is...well...idiocy.

If I reached in their pocket and took it, it's stealing. If they drop it and walk away, it's not stealing.

If it is such a crime, answer this: Could I be arrested for keeping a twenty I find on the ground?

It is, technically.

stealing

1: to take the property of another wrongfully and especially as a habitual or regular practice.

That's what you're doing with money, with gum, with music. The hooker being careless does not change that.

overanalyzing. could I be arrested for finding a twenty and keeping it?

I'd say yes, because it applies to this:

1: to take the property of another wrongfully and especially as a habitual or regular practice.

The money is not your property, she has not given it away, vacated it. It has been accidentally left somewhere. If it falls out of her pocket, the intent was clearly not to drop it, but to keep it.

Also, look, you've jumped to gap to admitting you steal, so just admit it. You are, like it or not, a thief. In this instance or not, you do steal, regularly, by legal definition.

You really think there is a cop in the world that would arrest me for that? 😆

There are cops that don't arrest people for possessing pot.

Use all the smilies you want, the issue at hand is you not liking the tag of "Thief" being applied to you, but indulging in stealing or taking another person's property, which is silly.

tags can be applied to anyone for anything. I can apply a half dozen tags on you off the top of my head. tags are nothing more than labels, and I dont do labels.

let me reword the forementioned question. You think a cop would even question me?

Regardless, you are being a thief.

If he or she saw it happen, as in they saw it fall out of her pocket and you take it, I'd say there's something wrong if they don't question you, because it's blatant stealing. The only difference between that and pickpocketing is that you're not reaching onto her person. You are still taking her money.
